I hope not.

Really? So what's your genius alternate plan? Please fill me in.

When was the last time that a team who's best player was 6' 3" won a championship?
Plus, he could not even make it through last season.

But Kyrie Irving helped LeBron win a championship in 2016, not the other way around lol.

I have the same reservations. There hasn't been a championship MVP PG since Tony Parker. Since then it's been Pierce, Kobe, Nowitzki, Lebron, Kahwi, Iguodala, and Durant.

Swings are just too versatile on both ends of the court. They can serve as a team's best scorer, and best perimeter defender. That's just not the case with most guards.

I think this team is a championship-caliber team, but I think Hayward being able to take his game up 1 more level, is going to be the real difference maker. At least until the Jays enter their prime.

That is the key. While our best player is 6'3,  our second and third best players are 6' 8 and 6'10. Our future also happens to be 6'7 and 6'9.

So basically our "susperstar" is a big point guard, but our true strength is our overwhelming wing depth and wing potential.

Slow news day huh?  :)
We already knew this.
The situation we have here is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I think this post was made after Kyrie said at a Boston event “If you guys will have me I’m resigning” to the crowd (paraphrasing)

Yeah, this was breaking news at the Celtics event that I was able to post before Shams, so no, we didn’t already know this. But many of us were hoping for this, or even were confident.

Looks like I can finally get my Kyrie jersey.

Anyone who thinks that this is bad news, look at blake griffin. Even if things dont work out, it's good to have a premium asset signed that can be traded.

Is that an argument for letting the 6'3" player walk, or an argument for getting even better players than Kyrie?

I would love to know what the backup plan is here.

I personally don’t think Kyrie will be the C’s best player for too long. Still feels like Ainge has that one last ace up his sleeve. Next summer at the earliest is when it can happen.

This is how a professional acts. Remove the distraction as completely as possible.

And that's the important part to me: the removal of the distraction.

Glad he came out and cleared this up. Honestly, even if the worst happens and he winds up deciding not to sign here, it's still a good move on his part because he's removed the distraction and all the questions about what he's going to do next. Really savvy and classy move to help this year's team.

That said, he's not signed til he's signed. We'll wait and see.

Incoming Kevin Durant.

Keep that snake far away! I'd rather go for Kawhi ;)

Apparently Kyrie has talked to Anthony Davis about coming to Boston, and league sources believe Boston and LA are the 2 most likely landing spots for him if he leaves NO. This report just came out today.
