Kyrie should be a far bigger priority than Rozier. Kyrie is one of the best point guards in the league, Rozier is a back-up.

Would like to see the tweet myself before I get scared...but the thought of him saying something like that does give me Isaiah Thomas flashbacks.

thats what several teams would gladly pay to have a franchise face , crowd drawing talent , TV draw too.

Yes .....if he is healthy and all in ...you pay him....these guys are few and far between , they don't show up in Boston often.

Kyrie ain't taking the five year.  Dude, is not going to leave money on the table.  He stands to make more if he has an early opt out.  Right now he is going into his 8th season. So he will be getting the 30% max of 2019. If he decides to keep his financial flexibility, he will opt out so he can get the 10 year veteran 35% maximum contract, which boosts is yearly salary by 5% of the cap (that should also be higher than the 2019 cap).  So he stands to make a lot more by opting out after the second year in a new 3yr 106M the Celtics could offer him in July of 2019.
TP for the info.  That last scenario could be best for both sides as the C's only commit for 3 years.

We just spent the last seven years trying to find The Guy, and now that we have him you want to cheap out?  Come on.

If it’s one or the other (and it almost certainly will be), pay Kyrie.  It’s not even a debate.  I love Rozier, but the best game of Rozier’s career is about par for Kyrie.

We’re only about a year removed from wondering if Rozier can be a valuable bench piece and now we’re talking about letting Kyrie walk because of him. Impressive work.

If you check the voting on the poll that is basically just this thread rehashed, you can see that most people aren't entertaining that idea

I don't see that tweet being about his contract at all.

Kyrie gets a five year max from us. Not even a question or an after thought.

Still 9 too many people voting Rozier.
