Sucks, but glad he is doing well and is retiring.  Don't want to mess around with that stuff.

...Huh.  I had thought he was playing fairly well for the Nets.  Kinda surprised he didn't finish out the season for a good shot at a ring before he hung up the gloves.

EDIT:  Actually, you know, read the thing instead of just looking at the title.  Good decision, and I hope he's doing alright.

Didn't he miss time earlier in his career due to heart issues? That's scary, but fortunately he's okay.

EDIT: He did have heart issues his rookie season and was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. Wonder if it's related.

I don’t think so.  He was paired with some really excellent teammates in his career, and was never able to do much more than put up a good individual stats.

I don't see him as HOFer either.

FWIW, his HOF probability index is .5089. Btw Dennis Johnson & Joe Johnson

Be healthy, Lamarcus. You had a very good, long career to be proud of. Enjoy the next chapter!

Shocking to me, but I totally get it. Congratulations, LaMarcus, on a solid career. Enjoy your family and your life, and many years of good health (hopefully).

This really came as a huge shock to me.

I've always liked Aldridge as a player, and he seems like a good guy.  I wish him all the best.

Sad news but at least not tragic. Best to walk away with your health and millions. Aldridge had a great career.

Regarding the HOF, there aren't many, if any, 7 time All-Stars not in the Hall. So though he may not be a first ballot guy, maybe 15 years from now he gets in.
