You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Griffin has played at an all star level as recently as 2019 (24.5 pts/gm).  Now I am not expecting any all star level play out of him but in a heavily minutes managed scenario, I think he can add something to our group of mediocre bigs.

His role would be bench scoring punch for maybe 18 min per game, one stint each half.  That is not a lot to ask and would be a nice incremental upgrade for our bench.

If you watch him play, you can tell he has a high basketball IQ. I'd take him.

Looks like Griffin gave up $13.3 million.

Per Shams, Blake Griffin is signing with the Brooklyn Nets.

Going to be a tough team.

Makes sense. Does he start? I wouldn't personally.

A starting lineup of Kyrie-Harden-Durant-Griffin-DJ would have been nigh-on unstoppable 3 years ago. Will be very interesting to see them play defence.

That's an understatement. The Nets are favorites to win the Championship.

That is the thing with super teams, ring chasers willing to leave behind big money to chase the elusive ring. Strong defense and very good offense will be the only way through that Nets team. A very tough out. Now, always a chance of mental meltdown if things somehow go bad but doubting that scenario.

I think a strong defensive team with an unstoppable force on offence (like Philly) could be a really interesting match-up for Brooklyn. But their offence will be very hard to stop.

Injuries could be their downfall for sure

The Nets are still the same team they were yesterday.  Adding an inefficient, injury-sapped player who adds nothing without the ball in his hands doesn’t improve them.

There’s a reason Detroit ate $70 million rather than keep him on the team.
