Hope he moves West unless we want him, but I think BKN and MIA more likely.

Honestly, I predict that he will be a non-factor in the playoffs and nothing more than a ninth or 10th man during the regular season.  I’m not nervous, no matter where he goes.

Yeah, he’s a shell of his former self. The Celtics reportedly expressed interest but I’m not sure if he would help us much. He’s a defensive liability

He's completely cooked. Someone might squeeze a little out of him in tiny spurts, because he has size, good passing ability and experience, but that's about it.

In 626 minutes of playing time this year, he has zero dunks, can't defend, and is a below-average 3PT shooter. Can't really rebound anymore, either.

Maybe his skill level translates to the bench for a little longer, but nothing to worry about missing out on.

He's better than Semi.

Is he?

Semi fills a role.  What is Griffin’s?  He’ can’t defend, he can’t shoot, he can’t finish, and his rebounding is poor.

Can't help but wonder if he will even be in the league next year. He appears so well done you can't even stick a fork into him.

That said, on a vet min contract, I would take him over Edwards or Green. That way if any of the bigs get hurt, he could at least give something for a few minutes each half, like big man passing and/or maybe some post offense.

Haven't watched a Pistons game in a long time, so I don't know the answer to this, but is Griffin just done or is he just physically limited because he is still injured.  That I think is the question.  If his body heals up, will he be able to produce or is he just done?  He is only 31 (at least for a few more days).  It isn't like he is 40. I don't know that he'd provide much this year, but I might sign him just to see if he is totally shot and maybe end up with him next year when he might be able to contribute off the bench more meaningfully.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

So your argument is that Semi is more valuable than Griffin? Who would be more likely to win us a single playoff game?

Can he pull a Walton and give them something off their bench?

Why would he sign with the Celtics?

He wouldn’t.

Personally I think he’s cooked and is just physically done. He’s gonna choose a contender and just ride the bench and get a ring.

From what I’ve seen, sadly he’s done. He’s talked enough himself about , in his words, how old he feels and how aging has impacted his game.

I agree with Roy, Semi is more useful for us. At least Semi can defend multiple positions and hit an open three.

He'd be a slightly better, but similar pickup to Greg Monroe a few years back. I'd take him if he was happy with whatever role he was given.

If you can pick up Griffin for Green, I'd do it. Griffin is physically cooked but he's a smart vet that can still e on the court and he's 6'10". He'd be the tallest center(not counting Tacko because he doesn't play) on our roster.
