Sam Amick wrote the following when picking Jackson for the Celtics in his latest mock.

Quote
Apparently the Celtics aren't concerned about Jackson's minor knee surgery in mid-May, as a source insists he won't get past Boston. He would need some grooming, but the lengthy, two-way player could eventually be a dynamic option behind Rajon Rondo.

I guess this is another "best player available" scenario, but it doesn't bode well for Avery unless he can develop a jumpshot

I like taking best player available but jeez this is Avery Bradley again. Both with injury history as well

Yeah, in this draft I think BPA is probably the way to go, and Avery Bradley shouldn't be blocking anyone.  But it really would be disappointing if this is the way Danny ends up going.

Reggie is much more ready to contribute offensively now than Bradley was when he came in. Not so much on defense.

Also people have to remember that even if this is 100% true it does not mean we will pick him if he is there. If there isn't someone higher on our board available he won't slide past us.

For the record I think he would be a very good player for us but I would prefer a project big with a high ceiling like Jeremy Tyler.

Reggie is a guy that I think can be a viable player in this league.  The main reason here is work ethic. His first couple of seasons at BC he was in an environment where 3 pointers were not emphasized.  his first two years he shot .273 and .291 from behind the arc.

Then Donahue came in, and had everybody work on 3pointers, Reggie's percentage jumped up to 42% from 3 pt range and this increase came while he was the number one threat for BC and drawing other teams top defenders.

I haven't seen him play other than highlights, but from his scouting reports, physical profile and stats, I have very little problem with this pick.

Super long arms, athletic, skilled ball-handler, good rebounder for a guard - not too dissimilar from Rondo.  Seems like he plays more like Jordan Crawford though.  Had terrible showings against some of the better teams he faced though: went a combined 16 for 61 from the field (26%) against Wisconsin, Duke and UNC.

I'm still hoping we can move up high enough to grab Kenneth Faried.  IMHO, he's the only home run pick available outside the lottery.

You just can't snatch a quality big at the bottem of a week draft.  Most teams need frontcourt depth and the good ones just dont last long

As for Reggie; well, he's a great athlete - very quick.  However, he's not a natural point guard so being able to adapt at an IQ position on this league is going to be a challenge for him

Danngy .ust be working out a trade or something to get a big that he wants...there's no other reason he would want to draft another rookie pointguard unless he's looking to move jackson or avery as part of a bigger trade....mb bbd and avery for a big

I'm hoping this is misdirection doubling as a favor to the kid's agent.

We need a big. No bigs available. Trade the pick. I feel like picking Jackson doesnt help us at all. It gives us two third string back up PGs that wont crack the rotation next year, and dont look to promising for the future either.

I wouldnt be that far down on him.  His numbers are incredibly similar to Delonte West's in college

Delonte last year at st Joe's

18.9 ppg     51% fg       5.4 rpg        4.7 apg      41% 3pt

Reggies last year at BC

18.2 ppg    50%fg        4.3  rpg        4.5 apg      42% 3pt

Except Reggis is much longer and a better Athlete

I think reggie will be a decent player in the league.  I am sorry he is not returning for his senior yr.

if Reggie really does have a 7' wingspan as is being reported then he will have enough size and length to defend 2 guards (at 6'2 with even a 6'10 wingspan he is longer then OJ mayo or eric gordan). Being over 200lbs and very athletic also helps. 6'6 shooting guards are no longer the norm in the nba the league is dominated by smaller athletic guards which reggie and avery both are, danny drafting reggie would be a sign that he recognises this trend
