Ja Morant is viewed as the second best prospect in a 3-5 person draft. 14 is a couple tiers below that, and Memphis proabably thinks they'll be good enough to diminish the value of their own pick coming back to them. I think Memphis says no and asks for another pick or two to make that happen.
