Free agent center Enes Kanter is expected to receive interest from the Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics on June 30, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Assuming the Celtics get Walker, Kanter seems to be a plausible option for a cheap big.

One of the best rebounders in the game right now and is only 27 years old. Would absolutely sign him to a reasonable 3-year contract. I just hope his separated shoulder is OK again.

He's super productive offensively and on the boards and I like his personality.  He'd probably continue to be a nice regular season player and then lose a lot of his playing time when teams exploit him in the playoffs.

not the worst option but a genuine concern on D.  considering we really need a center that's really good on D, he wouldn't be my first choice

i am not sure of putting the word "super" in front of productive for kanter.

a career PPG of 11.9.
career Asst/g of 0.8 (though 1.4 last season)
career TO/g of 1.6
negligible 3 point shooter, only attempted 0.2 3 pointers per game in his career, making only 29.4% of them.

he can rebound, he can score closer to the basket.

he is a poor defender. (0.4 blocks/game and 0.4 steals/g for career tell part of the story. not being able to defend the perimeter is one other part.)

he was paid over $18,000,000 last year.

if ainge picks him up, i trust ainge. but i would hope better options are out there.

here are some video clips of kanter on defense. i am not sure i want to watch this type of effort and performance for the celtics.  :P

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Think we can get him for 3 years and $15.3 million?

If we are bringing Kemba on board (and I hope we do), I don't think we really need a scoring center. I would much rather have a defensive oriented one - it's too bad we dumped Baynes, but he had his own concerns with injuries and such. Also, I am not sure he is the long term solution at the position. I will be very interested to see if DA can manipulate the cap to bring in as many solid players as possible to surround our young, talented core.

Very funny exchange between Enes Kanter and Julius Randle. Kanter was on Colin Cowherd yesterday and called Zion Williamson "overhyped". He said "I feel like he's Julius Randle with hops".  Then Julius Randle tweeted out "Yo@EnesKanter last time you guarded me I had 45 relax bro lol."

I think they said upon a fact-check, Kanter wasn't guarding him for that much of the game, but still pretty funny. And yeah, not exactly a defensive minded Center.

I would like Kanter.

I thought we should've signed him last season after he was waived by the Knicks.
