Paris has to be número 1 for everybody. After Paris, Im partial to Venice, Istanbul, Rome, New York, Toronto, Atlanta, Buenos Aires, Monaco, Budapest. Worst place Ive ever visited: notwithstanding the history, and I mean history of that city, I was depressed by how dirty the city of Athens, Greece was when I visited it.

Barranquilla Colombia is number 1 place...the ladies are knockouts!

Worst, Probably the Salton Sea in CA.  It smells like death, and has 1000's of dead rotting fish along the banks of the lake, the temperature is 120, and the fish die of lack of oxygen in the large shallow body of water as the wind and heat do their dirty work.

South Africa is not a place I'd recommend unless you know people there, or can afford to hire a tour / guide.

I was in the Jo-burg area.  It's a fairly dangerous city (every house in the city, including in the suburbs, has an 8-foot safety wall / gate to keep out drifters and burglars), and the public transit system isn't very good.  From what the locals told me, there are lots of car-jackings of taxis (including by taxi drivers) and the busses are death traps.  Not a good scene.  Thus, why it's good having somebody there to drive you around (we had my brother's in-laws).

So, yeah, safety isn't great.  However, the rest of it was very cool.  It's an absolutely beautiful country, and some of the wildlife-oriented activities you can do are phenomenal.  My favorite was a lion park, where you drive around and lions literally attack your car.  It was crazy.  We went to a monkey park, too, where we were walking on a suspension bridge which was probably 300 feet above the ground, straight out of Indiana Jones.  While we're crossing that, monkeys are trying to get on our shoulders, etc.

The food is great:  lots of beef, steak, burgers, etc.  It's very Americanized in that regard.  The locals -- at least, the ones descended from the British -- seemed cool.  Lots of drinking and sports and carrying on.

I don't know, it's hard to sum up, but it's a place I would totally go back to, but again, I'd have to be hosted.  I hear Cape Town is nicer than Jo-burg, so that's another option I'd probably check out.

Hey, if you're ever going, I can put you in touch with my brother (who currently lives there).

I always try to make the best of wherever I travel

I also always tend to find the scariest parts of the placest I travel

Places I've enjoyed immensely: London, Seattle, Vancouver, Washington DC

Scariest places I've ended up: In Philadelphia we got a tip that there was a great place to grab food and beers on the outskirts of town (near the convention center) we walked - dumb move - we witnessed one person passed out on the sidewalk and another carrying a cash register over his head - we took a cab back

In Vancouver we ended up on Hastings Street.  Luckily it was before dusk, because the people were all strung out even at 4pm....scary scary street full of drugged out people

and finally - Walked from the strip in vegas to the old downtown at night - not the best move - the increase in number of pawn shops and payday loan places should have tipped us off - we did walk by a bar with parking for drunk of the month...

(not our pic)

That`s a tough one ....

As best places i`d say Prague , Tuscany and Folegandros (a Greek island similar to Santorini but without the hype, less tourists etc)

I can`t think of a realy bad place ....
I didn`t like that much Budapest. The irony is that the best restaurant i`ve ever eaten it there (cafe kor don`t miss it !!!!)

Can I eat whale there? That would bump it up a bit. Especially if whale is good. I keep looking for it here and not finding it
