I came across an article with an odd trade for Jaylen Brown. At first I wasn't sure but the more I'm thinking about it, the more it would make sense for the Celtics. In the article it wasn't Mitchell I believe it was PJ Dozier but I'd want Mitchell and I'd be willing to put in a 2nd round pick or 2.
Celtics - Jaylen Brown
Kings - Keegan Murray, Kevin Huerter and Davion Mitchell.
The reason I feel this works for both teams is different for both teams. Kings get to form a legit big 3 with Brown, Fox and Sabonis. For the Celtics we get some clarity on the team. One thing you keep hearing is it's Tatum and Brown's team but they're so much a like I think they need to split, since I believe Tatum needs to know it's his team. Murray is a young up and comer, showing he could become a legit #2 option in the future and a solid 3rd option. Murray also slides into Brown spot in the line up or can slide to the shooting guard. Huerter gives us a scoring threat from the outside and also can take up the scoring from Brogdon. This also makes Brogdon being traded easier having someone who could score off the bench. Mitchell also becomes the poor man's Marcus Smart and also gives us another point guard.
Trading Brogdon with this Jaylen Brown idea now opens up more for what you can get for Brogdon. Taking on a veteran or younger talent becomes more usable by getting Huerter and Mitchell.
I'm curious to see what you think about this trade idea. Granted Brown would have to give them word saying he'd stay there and all. But as for the Celtics Murray is locked in for three years, Huerter for three and Mitchell for two. Please don't just write this trade is dumb, have an actually conversation.
