He has arrived. The whole package is pretty much there now.

Looks like JB (and DWhite) led us to a big Game 1 victory in the playoffs. Good job JB!!!

Tatum seems more than happy to defer to the hot hand.  as long as the wins keep flowing.  Right now JB & White are a lethal offensive combo.

JB has been the best Celtics player this postseason. Followed by D-White.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Thing I like bout Brown is he doesn’t pout or complain a lot if he gets a no call foul
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Interesting that Jaylen and Tatum had similar TS% in the first round against Miami despite Jaylen shooting so much better from the floor.

Jaylen = 52% FG% 32% 3PT% 56% TS%

Jaylen got 20 FTAs on 92 FGAs but made only 9 of them. So he got no boost from the FT line.

Tatum = 41.6% FG% 29% 3PT% 56% TS%

Tatum got 45 FTAs to only 77 FGAs which is exceptional. You'd like to see a player like Tatum in the high 20s percentage wise for FTr. Tatum was up at 58% FTs to FGs. He hit them 80%. So he got a massive scoring efficiency boost from the FT line.

Point being = Tatum not as inefficient as first appears with his scoring and Jaylen not as efficient as first appears.

Tatum rebounding better, defending better, passing better.

RPG = 10.4rpg to 7.2rpg
APG = 5.4apg to 2.2apg

D White is killing both these guys in shooting efficiency.

58% FG% 48% 3PT% 74.3% TS%

He is not getting to the FT line much but he is taking a huge volume of threes and hitting them a high clip. 44 threes on 71 shot attempts. So 57% of his shots are from 3. Getting a major boost there in overall scoring efficiency. A small additional boost with 9/10 FTA.

He is proving his critics wrong. This is why they signed him to such a big deal.

 He's playing 100% smarter and mature than he had in the past. Not a lot of forcing the issue.

The only thing holding them back the last few years was the mental part. The talent has always been there.
Still don't believe in Joe.

About the only issue with Jaylen this postseason is is FT shooting. He's at 54% on 4 a game. He has a TS% of 60.5% which is very good for a playoff run but if he was hitting just a okay 75% of his FT's his TS% would be 62.6%.

Besides last year vs MIA he's always been a solid playoff performer mostly becasue A) His focus on defense gets much better and B) He's a tough shot maker and you need those in the post season.

I remember he was like the only bright spot in that 2nd round defeat against MIL when Kyrie blew the team up.

I think right now the main thing with him is he just feels comfortable with his game. He's got moves at all three levels and counters if his first or even second move gets shut down.

Another gem by Brown. His critics need to create another reason why they don’t like him. He’s contributing to winning playoff games. 13-17 tonight. Great job, JB!

JB has been fantastic these playoffs. He still scares me to death when he dribbles but he does seem to be more dialed in.

I had a knee-jerk reaction to him dribbling off his leg last night, then I calmed myself down when I realized they've been much fewer and farther apart and it didn't necessariy mean the sky was falling.

He's been super solid.

Nobody has worse looking turnovers in the NBA - it's not even close. Luckily, he doesn't have a lot of the ones you don't really notice.

That being said, his efficiency is something to behold. He really is holding up his end as the #2 on this team. By focusing on what he does well, he is really allowing his game to reach another level and that has been necessary with Tatum struggling with his shot.

It was also nice to see him encouraging JT to be more aggressive during the game. Great stuff from JB.

I enjoyed watching him go left and score several times to close out the Heat.

Haven’t heard “He can’t go left” in a while. That’s nice.
