I was pretty surprised Rod Strickland didn't end up getting picked.

Very nice power guard. Difficult to defend against. Very tough and rough physical guard.

On a lot of players most difficult PG to defend list during the mid to late 1990s.

Didn't win very much though. Those Spurs teams seemed to get a lot better after he left and ditto for the Blazers fortunes. While the teams he joined struggled and never really made any noise in the playoffs. First round exit after first round exit. Those Spurs and Blazers teams were pretty talented too.

I made a quick allusion to him as a great fit for a team in like the 5th or 6th round, and was pretty sure he was going to go soon. I know TONS about basketball.

EDIT: Not sure why I picked Price over him, either. Would've made a lot more sense for my squad

Marc Jackson was not selected. I always despised him as a player.

I'll throw out Bob Dandridge, Paul Arizin, and Bill Sharman.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Horace Grant also wouldn't have been a horrible pick.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
So, players / seasons that weren't selected?

A few guys I noticed (and I didn't have a big board or anything):

Mo Cheeks, 1986:  15 points, 9 assists, 54% shooting, 1st Team All-Defense

Vin Baker, probably 1997: 21 points, 10 rebounds, 51% shooting

Marques Johnson, 1979:  25.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 54.4% shooting, 1st Team All-NBA

Carlos Boozer, 2007:  21 points, 12 rebounds, 56% shooting

Other guys who could fill a role:  Mookie Blaylock, Terry Cummings, Terry Porter, Dan Issel, Michael Redd, and one of my binkies, Jamal Mashburn

Cedric Ceballos: 22 pts, 51% FG, 40% 3pt, 8 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal.

Horace Grant, Terry Porter, Terrell Brandon, Mookie Blaylock..

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

Good riddance. But yeah, based upon talent, he could have easily been picked.

I was thinking about this last night, offensively, he kind of fits into the Heat pretty similarly to how Horace Grant did w/ most teams. Picks n' midrange j's.

Last one:  Chauncey Billups.

Solid backup PG for teams that need a 3pt specialist.
