Former All-NBA point guard John Wall held a private workout in Las Vegas this week, and according to the Athletic’s Kelly Iko, the Boston Celtics were one of several teams with personnel in attendance.

I find this really interesting, I would take John Wall for the minimum.

He can take on that Isaiah Thomas role off the bench.

Bad defense, but could be a shooter we might need for some firepower. If he still has it of course.

Wall was never much of a shooter.  Career 32% from three, 37% only once.  Not much different than Marcus.

Even with Smart we lacked in playmaking.  Now, I’m afraid it could be a problem.  Wall used to average 10 assists per game. Maybe he could help.  I haven’t paid any attention to his play for a long time though.

It’s because he’s played in 147 games since Jayson Tatum has been in the NBA.

That's why you offer the vet minimum.

Or why you don’t even offer that.

I would defiantly take a look, I always liked Wall before he got hurt. Even a shell of what he was would be interesting.

If Wall is willing to do what Griffin did last year, then I'd give him a look, but otherwise I don't see the value.  He doesn't shoot well enough to have a role except when players are hurt.

He really thrives when he was healthy due to his incredible speed. Probably the fastest guy end to end with the ball at least for a year or two, if I’m not mistaken.
I’m guessing he ends up somewhere else but who knows. He’d probably be behind Pritchard on this team.   It would be a totally different story if he could still be a spot up threat but he wasn’t able to develop that. Maybe it’s specifically that. Has he put a jumper together. Some guys can do it . Rare that late.

For the minimum, for sure. I'd be less enthusiastic if he wanted the MLE, as that would hard cap us at the second apron and I'm not sure we want him to be the cause of us being hard capped.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Still better than Pritchard but there are concerns.

I know they play different minutes but Wall is still better using PER 36 to equalize the minutes.

Is he, though? He takes more shots and is better at passing, but he's worse at shooting everywhere but 3-10 ft and at pretty much everything else. At this point, he's a ball-dominant PG that can't score and isn't a good defender. As a first/second option Wall is probably the better choice, but that's the last thing we need, and any team with Pritchard or Wall as a top offensive option is going to be awful.
I'm bitter.
