Your plan to fix a shooting problem is to trade Ray Allen?

 ::)

can't both Bargnani and JO shoot, Bargnani 3s and midrange and JO midrange and post?

And the Celtics would have to replace Ray Allen, one of the all time great outside shooters in the NBA, with Tony Allen, who has no outside shot.  That's not fixing a shooting problem.  That is making it worse.

Celtics need an extra shooter off the bench without giving up a starter.

start Bargnani, he stretches the floor, move pierce to the 2, JO off the bench to anchor the second unit

Except he is a C, not a SF.  Will completely destroy the Celtics defense.

The only thing O'Neal will anchor (literally) is team morale.

The Raptors played Bargnani at the 3 a few times this season. It was Bargnani natural position in Europe, btw. Of course, in Europe teams can play zones the entire game and that allowed Bargnani to play on the perimeter; but in this experiment for the Raptors that 3 big men line-up (O'Neal, Bosh, Bargnani) was a colossal failure. Bargs cannot defend NBA wings, he simply misses the tools to do that.

Putting Bargnani to 3 is just not gonna work. He'll be guarding the likes of LBJ. Even Pierce leaves him behind in their games and they say Pierce is slow ::)
