With both Horford and Kyrie seemingly out the door, Tatum becomes the face of our franchise. How do you think he’ll fare?

I think he’ll average 20+ppg and league-wide, people will say “he’s arrived!”. I’m personally worried he’s going to go all Melo on us, with less success. Maybe like some above average middle ground between Melo and Wiggins. I hope I’m wrong.

I think the fact that Tatum has been overrated is about to come to the light.

Maybe but I think it's time to find out.  As I watched that disaster of a season unfold I thought it was time for the Celtics to pick a direction and go with it.  A team comprised of young, high draft picks looking to establish themselves and veterans ranging from super-star to star status just wasn't working.  Too many conflicting agendas.  Not saying this is the route I was hoping for but with Kyrie and presumably Al leaving it's time to go in that direction.

I sorta hope he models his shot-taking around Ray Allen, in that I want to see around 40% of Tatum's FGA coming from 3, but I also want to see him attack the ring some more. With his length and ability to handle the ball he should be able to get much better shots than the ones he was taking.

If he can clean up his shot selection I think the sky is the limit. Hopefully he's working hard on his strength too, as finishing through contact will be huge for him. Maybe he'll even stop flailing about in order to generate calls - which he fails at.

I think we can expect similar production on similar shooting splits to 3rd year Danny Granger
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I'm hoping for significant improvement.  less Kobe-like shooting decisions and more smart shooting decisions.

Guess we’ll find out. With increased usage, he should definitely be scoring 20+ ppg. Question is how efficient will he be.

Has to take the next step. Can't settle for bad shots.

He has holes in his game but he's not overrated.

Kid is 20 years old. Generally players don't reach their prime for another 5-7 years.

I have a feeling Brown will be the one averaging 20 points. Brown is more alpha than Tatum and is more likely to lead the team in scoring next year.

In a vacuum yes, but Brad doesn't really give Jaylen the freedom to do that. Let's hope he does this season.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA
