Sahara.

The Dirk Pitt books are great.   The movie, awful.   Just awful.

How about a reboot using one of the other books.

From my childhood, I always thought a well done and faithful adaptation of the dark is rising series would be good...i used to picture it cinematically when i read it...but i heard the one movie was awful, so i never saw it.

Babylon 5 prequel movies at box office scale. Seeing how well star trek movies do why not?

I'd like to see Marvel Comics dig up THIS old (but CLASSIC) relic from its vaults

The ROM comics were very compelling and had good storylines with them...if the Guardians of the Galaxy movie was popular I'd think that ROM and his Space Knights would be, too.

If anything, such a movie would be original....and an Avengers or X-Men (or even Guardians of the Galaxy) tie-in would be easy.

Quite a few of the recent remakes are worse than the originals.  I would like some screen writers that could come up with their own imaginative material...

What about Krull and fans of that on here that think it would make a decent remake movie?

Guillermo del Toro's version of At the Mountains of Madness.

I am not a particularly big fan of Lovecraft and I like del Toro but am far from a superfan, but I think this would be incredible.

Basically, there is a Lovecraft novel about these explorers that find a completely alien, fantastical looking city that is in ruins in the Arctic.  They find some animals there that are freaky and are basically prehistoric.  As they explore the ruins, they find out that these evil beings are out there and they all start to go insane.

Tom Cruise was going to star and James Cameron was going to executive produce it.  He lined up around $150 million to film it, but it was on the condition that it would be rated PG-13, which del Toro balked at.  Now it's in like permanent limbo.  I would love to see del Toro's design of that city though, I think it would be amazing.  He's one of the few guys who could create some legit looking monsters / elder gods for the cameras.  Prometheus basically sealed it's fate, unfortunately.

I'd like to see an official reditting of Phantom Menace.

And can something be done to Rocky 5?

A movie that could be remade is gremlins.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Isn't that an old Humphrey Bogart movie?
