I-Tunes just shuffled onto "Papa Was A Rolling Stones" by the Temptations.  One of all-time favorites and I'd forgotten to mention it.  Hadn't heard it in a long time.
Yup

WOULD - By Alice In Chains
A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.

Push yourself again and again. Don't give an inch until the final buzzer sounds.

Harvest Moon by Neil Young

Said it somewhere in this thread, but that was my wedding song.  Great song - and yes, very sentimental.

We had one request for the band "NO BUFFETT!"

Lo and behold, the band must have run out of songs and started playing Buffett.  No one else seemed too bothered by it, so we decided it was not necessary to bash the singer over the head with a chair. We were prepared to do so however.  Desperate times call for desperate measures.

edit: just noticed this was the album thread, not the song thread, but yes indeed the whole album Harvest Moon is a beauty.

edit edit: just noticed that this was in fact the song thread...so, uhhh, yeh...what was my point?

Nice choice, BT, I like Johnson's version, too ... and believe it or not, that tune was written by Barry Manilow, (but I'll take Keith Sweat any day). Just goes to show ... blue is blue, the shade don't matter, man! TP

TP to lurky for including late great Link Wray. And Ooh Child-fantastic song.  I'm going to check out your list, since I'm an old fart and not familiar with some of them.

How about-

Over the Rainbow- Judy Garland
The End of the World- ??? Willie Nelson wrote it and it's been stuck in my head for over forty years!!!!
Happy Together- Turtles
Day After Day- Badfinger
Raining in My Heart- Slim Harpo??, countless others
Dock of the Bay- Otis Redding
