A. Sherrod Blakely was hinting at the same thing the other day.  Christmas would put him at 12 weeks from the original time period.

So right at the end of the 8-12 week timeline?

Thats fine. They should give him as long as he need, be very cautious, then add two weeks on to whatever that is. When he comes back he should rest b2b's, strict minutes limits at no more than 25 in the regular season and honestly stay home on one game road trips sandwiched between home games. Literally whatever it takes to keep that guy healthy.

The c's don't need him to get a top 2 seed, they may win 60 games without him (barring other injuries).  But they need hm come playoff time.

A healthy timelord added to this team and we might not lose a game in the playoffs.

In that interview, Woj also hinted the Celtics are currently looking for a big man, before the February trade deadline.

Yes, Yes, Yes. Hope he is correct.

The Celts seriously looking for another center is as good news as Williams returning.
Even with Rob healthy, we need size and muscle to win titles ....... and a nasty demeanor to go with it would help this team.

An interesting option could be Thomas Bryant.

If the Lakers fall out of the playoffs picture early enough, they may cash in on Bryant, especially given he’s on an expiring deal.

I was hoping for a late February return and gradual increase in minutes.  Back to form and 25-30 mpg by April. Healthy for playoffs.

If Woj is correct Rob will be back with 50-55 games remaining. Hope he can stay healthy.

What do you think Mazz will do with the starting lineup once Timelord is ready to go? I think he still goes with the two big to start. Will be interesting…

You would think he has to start and finish games.  The starting lineup needs time to gel again and get used to playing together.  Even if he plays 22-24 minutes I'd think he'd start. play 6 minutes per quarter.  Start the 1st and 3rd.  Finish the 2nd and 4th.

So long as we’re on top of the league, I see no reason whatsoever to bring Timelord back. Let that young man rest and rehabilitate so that he can be healthy the entire playoffs. He’s our ace in the hole and how we are going to top Milwaukee in the ECF.

No reason? Are you serious? Chemistry, perhaps? Maybe to get him match fit? Or to not frustrate him and the others? Maybe to lessen the load upon Al?

There are so many reasons

He needs to come back otherwise they are going to run Horford into the ground. In reality they need to get Williams and another big to rotate those minutes and move Al back to the 4.

Exactly. Al has been super efficient this season, but his minutes are above 30MPG which I do not like. He is also significantly down on per-possession numbers for rebounds, assists, steals and blocks, and slightly down on points. I think it is apparent that he's better when Rob is out there.

The dream is for him to retain his super efficiency whilst lifting his other areas.
