I love watching all sports. My second team after the Cs used to be Chicago because I started watching the NBA as a kid right when Jordan was drafted. I preferred the Cs though because a) they were my dad's team and b) I liked their uniforms

Absent the Cs today I would probably follow players more than a specific team...and I do like watching Luka play.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Wrong thread

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

No

Been watching the NBA since I was a kid in the mid-60's.
Always liked the Celtics on the ABC Sunday afternoon games, but fell in love during the 1969 playoff run.

Thru the 70's and 80's, I watched a lot of basketball, college and pro.
It started changing in the 90's and has deteriorated to almost unwatchable these days.
The ball is moved with the dribble and the game is played on the edge of a foul or a turnover.
Layups are declined in favor of a contorted pass to a shooter camped out at the 3-point line.
The players celebrate good plays and their team making a run by pointing to themselves and then signaling for louder applause.
There used to be a wide range of playing styles among teams, but now almost all play the same way.

My little-boy heart still loves the Boston Celtics and probably always will, but the rest of the modern game, No Thank You.

i consider nba basketball to be unwatchable as a sport. to be honest, the best basketball to watch, for me, is college women's teams. they pass, they play team offense and defense, and work so hard at it.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

You should watch the Bellarmine men’s team (the team that barely dribbles). Super interesting style

Yes, but the product is definitely not as good as it was in the 1990s and 1980s. The number one thing that would improve the quality of the product is bringing back hand-checking. With hand-checking, basketball becomes far more strategic with greater rewards for the smartest and toughest players, not necessarily the most athletic or the best shooters. It was chess on hardwood floors for tough athletes. Without hand checking, it may be faster with higher scoring on average, but a lot is lost in the process.

Fortunately, the Celtics will always be part of the NBA.

if the Celtics didn't exist, I couldn't care less about the NBA.  Product is awful.  hate the way the game is played.  much prefer the style played in the early and mid-80's.
I agree..
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark

Louisville most recently. They don’t have much athletic talent though

I don't even watch the Celtics games anymore. Have watched just 1 game this season. Don't remember which one it was. I kinda follow the league cause I enjoy playing fantasy draft games, like the ones we used to do here during the offseason.

Generally speaking, I'm gradually losing interest in sports. I actually hope I didn't care at all about sports, but for some reason I keep coming back from time to time. I view it as a maturing process. When I was a kid I was a sports enthusiast. I now realize there's no point getting overly emotional about a game, much less about a corporation. Wyc (/most of the owners in general) cares more about maximizing his profits than about winning. Good for him I guess.

I watched some women's college ball the other day. It was really good. TP

My loyalty is to the C's not the NBA, hence,  I would not watch it at all in all  likelihood.   I quit watching when we lose in the playoffs.
