We need to get our main guys unstuck but I appreciate that we’re winning despite their struggles.  Credit to D White for being that dude while Smart is out.

Good win.
Tatum had 10 assists! It’s not always about the points. Those assists probably led to 24 or so points. It’s all good.

JB with 27pts/10rebs/7ast while shooting 50% from the field… Really good game.

The 7 turnovers were a problem.
::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Of course. No one can give JB praise without someone else tearing him down.
nothing untrue about 7 TOs being a problem because they are.  doesn't take away from some good play by Jaylen either
No but why does it have to be the focus on a night the guy went for 27/10/7 with 2 steals and 50% shooting from the field and 3 and 80% from the line, if not to take the guy down a notch.

I've seen games where Tatum was terrific except for a lot of TOs and not a word is mentioned.

Sorry, but JB doesn't get a fair shake from a lot of guys that frequent the game threads. Even on great nights you either hear crickets or takes like..."yeah, but those turnovers".

I think it sucks he gets treated like a red headed step child by so many on this site.

I don't disagree with your take on how he's treated because I see the same thing and praise Jaylen when he plays well.  I will also say Tatum does get dinged for bad TOs and bad play -- including tonight.

I know you're the president of the JKJB committee but I'd like to think of myself as big a fan of him.

I like Brown but the turnovers were horrid, led to breaks and momentum swings. There was a particular stretch in the 3rd where we couldve put them away for good but couple of brown TOs and pels were back in it.

Tatum took some bad shots as well. Brogdon played bad as well.

I was taking a look at Zion's stats and though he is lauded and promoted like crazy by the NBA's media partners, I am surprised by how much his numbers are lower than last year in very similar minutes.

He's scoring 3.5 PPG less. Rebounding 0.8 RPG less. FG% almost 5% points less. Shooting 1 FGA less. His PER is down 4 points his TS% down 3.5% points.

And for a guy that strong and dominant underneath the basket, he grabs less rebounds a game than Jaylen Brown and has a rebounding percentage equal to Jayson Tatum.

What gives? I figured him to be a monster 30/14/5 guy like Giannis but he is falling well behind that. Is he just too, I'll be nice and say, "big"?

I think part of the problem with Zion is that he needs the team to revolve around him. I see him as struggling with the amount of talent on the floor next to him -- that there is too much talent and he doesn't know how to fit in alongside them. Back to the immaturity comment I made earlier about this team.

This reminds me of Giannis in his earlier years as well. He didn't play that well with talented teammates. His lack of floor spacing made life difficult for them. And the Bucks as team did not take off until they decided to reconfigure the entire team around both Giannis' strengths but also his weaknesses.

Zion also needs to grow up and learn to play some frickin' defense. His numbers are down but his overall impact is even less than those disappointing numbers suggest because of how bad his D is. Again, the immaturity aspect. Also the inability to take a very talented team and make it a legitimate contender which is achieveable for that group.

You know what is encouraging is that the last two games missing smart, Tatum has had poor shooting nights.

And we still won. That is pretty big. The Celtics depth is just overwhelming teams right now. Grant, white, Hauser, prichard, brogdon all guys can go off for 20.

Last night white picked up the slack

I think now it's time to give Tatum a breather as well. Sit him out Monday
