Per both Woj and Shams. He is still 19 and was taken with pick 12 one draft ago.

Wonder what the story is...

There’s definitely something behind this.  Wasn’t his option just picked up?

Yeah, they had just exercised the third year option. Never seen anything like it.

Wow, wasn’t he part of the future for the Spurs? Must be some issue that isn’t basketball related?

I’m hoping he had a personality conflict with Pop and the old man said adios. In that case, pick him up.

I hope it’s not a horrible off-the-court story.

If it was a basketball conflict, they would have traded him, I think.

Exactly. Interesting to see how this unfolds.

Cut Kabengele and sign him to a 2-way.  He might actually have a chance to play.  He can be paired with fellow Alabama guard Davison.

That is assuming he didn't commit domestic violence or some other atrocious behavior.

If he didn't he'll get a better offer than a 2-way on a team where he won't get minutes

Claim him with a trade exception, and send him to Maine.

Yeah, if there’s no criminal / sexual misconduct, pick him up off waivers and cut Jackson.

Yeah, I'm just going to wait until the reason is made public. It just seems so odd to me that it necessitates something quite severe.

I’d happily take a chance on him if this is just a cultural misfit.  No chance that’s all it is though, right?

Wow, that is shocking. I had expected to see him start this season for the Spurs and was surprised he was not starting to start the year.

Has to be some sort of serious domestic assault story etc coming out in the coming days.
