Put these in order, from most exciting to least:

Summer League
Training Camp / Pre-Season
Regular Season
All-Star Game
Trade Deadline
Playoffs / Finals (Celtics games)
Playoffs / Finals (non-Celtics games)
NBA Draft
Free Agency

For me, I'm thinking...

1.  Playoffs / Finals (Celtics games)
2.  Free Agency
3.  Trade Deadline
4.  NBA Draft (this moves up when we're in the lottery)
5.  Regular Season
6.  Training Camp / Pre-Season
7.  Playoffs / Finals (non-Celtics games)
8.  Summer League
9.  All-Star Game

I love Free Agency.

I don't have that much interest in the trade deadline because usually nothing much happens. My interest in draft goes up and down. Some years I pay no attention to it. Some years I follow it.

No interest in the ASG game. It hasn't been interesting for 15 years now. The LeBron generation ruined it. Stopped playing with any effort and made it look like a layup line. Let opposing teams do all the dunks they want. Then came in the Steph generation who want to shoot threes from the halfway line. Both awful.

My interest in the playoffs goes up and down depending on matchups, interest in specific teams & competiveness of each conference and Finals.

My interest in the regular season is more constant because there are always interesting teams and (young) players to folow. There are roster changes. There are aging players. A lot of changes and variety.

So, I would say

1 - Regular Season
2 - Free Agency
3/4 - Playoffs (Cs or non-Cs)

I have lost almost all interest in the summer league. It was fun when they first started airing all the games for free on NBA.com and left them up all summer long so you could watch them as you feel like. But I ain't paying for them! They are not that good.

I have no interest in training camp or preseason.

So I'll go in reverse this time because I have little interest in most of these:

9 - Summer league
8 - Training camp / Preseason
7 - All Star game
6 - Trade deadline

5 - NBA Draft

OK.  I love the lead up, wish Free Agency was actually before the draft.  All Star game can go away as far as I'm concerned.  This took a few tries, but I think this is where I land:

1.   NBA Draft
2.   Playoffs / Finals (Celtics games)
3.   Trade Deadline
4.   Free Agency
5.   Summer League
6.   Training Camp / Pre-Season
7.   Playoffs / Finals (non-Celtics games)
8.   Regular Season
9.   All-Star Game

Yeah, the ASG is just not compelling anymore. I miss the days when Larry and Isaiah were on the same team and actually took the game seriously in the 2nd half.

Instead of ranking them—since, theoretically, I could be really excited or not at all excited about all of these events, and thus my No. 9 event could theoretically be not far off my No. 1 event as opposed to being WAY off, as the lowest ranking might suggest—I'll just give a one-word summation of how I feel about each one:

Summer League Boring
Training Camp / Pre-Season Meh
Regular Season Interesting
All-Star Game Disgusting
Trade Deadline Exciting
Playoffs / Finals (Celtics games) Exciting
Playoffs / Finals (non-Celtics games) Meh
NBA Draft Underwhelming
Free Agency Intriguing

Some depend on the year.  Lately the draft and summer league have been mostly uninteresting but in a rebuilding year they'd be fun.  The playoffs are the reverse, though I admit that I struggled to get into this latest playoff run despite the fact that we were one win away from the Finals.

In general...

Celtics Playoffs
Non-Celtics Playoffs
Regular Season
NBA Draft
Free Agency
Trade Deadline
Preseason
Summer League

The ASG is a waste of time and I'll probably never watch it live again.

ASG - never excited/interested
Playoffs (Cs eliminated)
Training Camp
Summer League (when we have rookies/2nd year players worth watching)
Trade deadline
Free agency
Draft
Preseason
Regular Season
Playoffs/ finals (Cs involved)
