Atalanta owner Antonio Percassi has reached an agreement to sell 55% of the club to investors group managed by Stephen Pagliuca, Boston Celtics co-owner.

Stephen Pagliuca will be the new co-chairman of the club - Percassi will remain as president.

Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio, commonly referred to as Atalanta, is a professional football club based in Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy. The club plays in Serie A.

Pagliuca also released a statement as part of the sale, saying the Italian side and the Celtics share a lot in common:
