I'm mildly surprised.  So far he's shown next to nothing on the court to justify where he was drafted - but at the same time he really hasn't been given much of a chance to play.  Maybe he gets that chance with Theis out for awhile?

Yes, absolutely.  I think that made the decision to pick up the option pretty easy.  Also, he's a bit more experienced that Williams so CBS may trust him a bit more.  That said, I haven't seen any major boo-boos by R-Will, other than an occasional lost defensive assignment.

No brainer.

There is pretty much no downside for the Cs to exercise Yabusele's option.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

The block from behind that Yabu had last night looked a lot like Horford. The way he baited the ball-handler and then blocked him out of nowhere from behind looked like something Horford has done 50-80 times in games as a Celtic.

He's shown enough off the court to get the max.

There aren't many impressive big men out there on the market or next market  next year ... Kind of expected

If Yabu ever cracks the top 9 it will surprise me.

He's being kept as potential filler for a trade, to make salaries match. They could replace his on-court performance with a two-way contract player.

I guess for the money it could be worse. He's young and works hard. It's difficult to get better when you hardly play.

The money part matters. He's inexpensive on a team that will need to find cheap labor going forward. He has upside so it's worth the money.

THIS ^

his biggest upside ...low bucks

There isn't probably much choice with DT out for at least a few weeks.  Yabu will get a chance for a little pt.

But after a couple years with him on the team, I am still not sure how Yabu fits on the team?  I guess as an end of bench guy that doesn't cause problem and hustles and gives effort when he is out there.  I like him, so as long as we aren't paying him much keep him.

I don’t know - I don’t love it. I mean, I suppose Caboose-ele has some potential, but on a winning tram like ours, we could easily get better production from vet min players. Like others have said, it must just be mostly for  salary matching purposes.

He's got a single season plus a single-digit number of games with the team. This is my whole point - it's been one year, and he's been in a deep veteran frontcourt the entire time with limited opportunity at court time. I don't know if he'll put it together or not, but he hasn't had enough time to make a call yet.

Yeah, he's only 22. That's very young for a big man.

Scal comeback?
