The second unit needs the shooting.

And ban Smart and Semi from ever shooting a three. Drive to the hole!

Agreed but I think CBS should wait a few more games before making the switch. It'll be easier for Hayward to accept if he feels CBS has given the new starting lineup a fair shot.

I like Hayward off the bench instead of Tatum and Brown because Hayward has the most well-rounded game. Shot-creation, ball-handling, playmaking ability. Hayward is the one best suited to lead a less offensively 2nd unit lineup.

Hayward should be to Boston what Ginobili was to San Antonio.

I like this idea.  It will be the same group they had last year and allow Hayward to be integrated slowly.

I think Brown should go to the bench with Smart starting.

Bringing a MAX salary guy off of the bench is unprecedented in today's game. Hayward didn't come here to be that guy.

Agreed on Horford as best player. I think Hayward is 2nd best (over Kyrie).

Similar to many years in San Antonio where Ginobili was better than Tony Parker but came off the bench to give the team better balance throughout the game.

Why does it matter who starts or not?

Actually, Tatum is our best player. Has a team ever won a championship with a 20 year old as their best player? Maybe this will be more of a work in progress than we thought.

I like Hayward and hate to see a 'demotion' to the bench, but our starting line-up last season was pretty great. It also helps balance the line-ups in terms of bigs, playmakers, and scorers.

Tatum needs to replicate what he did in the playoffs over an entire season before we start calling him this team's best player. He's good and the talent is there. I'm high on him as a player, but a lot of people are too quick to crown him a star before he's actually earned it.

Heaven forbid we do something "unprecedented."

If that’s what we need, why not Kyrie? Start Rozier and have Kyrie destroy opposing benches with Smart, Mook, and Baynes handling the defense.

Our playmaking and passing would take an enormous hit if we started Rozier.

My comment was mostly in jest, because they would never make Kyrie a reserve while trying to resign him.

But how would our playmaking and passing take a hit? Rozier isn’t far off from Kyrie as a passer. Playmaking can also run through Hayward and Horford as well.

Last season, we averaged basically the same assists after Kyrie went down than with him.
