The NBA today unveiled the official courts that teams will play on throughout the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament, which tips off on Friday, Nov. 3 with a doubleheader on ESPN as the Knicks visit the Milwaukee Bucks at 7:30 p.m. ET and the Denver Nuggets host the Dallas Mavericks at 10 p.m. ET.

The courts, which will be used for Group Play and the Quarterfinals, showcase a bold and distinctive design scheme league-wide, making it instantly clear to fans when a game carries NBA In-Season Tournament implications.  The unified look represents the first time that the league has implemented an alternate court for all 30 teams and the first time that any NBA team has played on a fully painted court with no woodgrain details.  This will also mark the first time that the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers will play on an alternate court in the history of the franchises.

Yuck. I'm already not a fan of the way the court is split, but the lack of woodgrain just really makes me dislike it. It makes it look like the kind of cheap surface you find in some highschools

It’s different but I don’t hate the look.

Pretty unnecessary.  Then again, so are the in season tournament and all the alternate jerseys so this was only a matter of time.

Let's face it: The NBA has almost completely ditched tradition, which sucks for traditionalists such as myself. They've got Nike making all these ugly uniforms, now they're messing with the courts. And we've got a completely meaningless, pointless in-season tournament. Oh, and sponsor patches on jerseys. Hooray for the 21st century.

How much time did they spend designing these?  90 seconds?

The idea of unique-but-uniform custom courts for the in-season tournament seems like an idea I can get behind.

But this ain't it.

Looking at some of the others, I'm surprised we didn't get "Beantown".

Yup. Which is about as much time as Nike spent on the jerseys.

I'm not sure about the in-season tournament thing, will need to see more details... but I'm not a fan of that until I see more of how it'll play out.

As for the court designs, I like it a lot. They're simple, loud, easily recognizable, and with a uniform pattern among all teams. For the purposes of the tournament, I think it works well.

You forgot "ugly" and "amateurish", haha.
