The TIMELORD really gave The Celtics a shot of energy when he came into this game. He's a good matchup for these younger, faster, taller teams.

RWIII did some nice things, and I would actually say this was one of his best outings. He still did a few rookie things -  forgetting to switch on a pick and roll, which gave up an uncontested layup; and going for a block a couple times when he should have been boxing out. Still, pretty good overall.

He does make mistakes but he always plays hard and his presence in the paint changes how the other team attacks the basket. He is just so big and quick that he gives the Celtics a totally different look. I love him on the court with Horford.

He’s tantalizing. Shows a lot of potential. Really hoping he can put it together. Really wondering what he can be in a couple years with some good development.

If he puts in the work his floor is rotation player. His ceiling is a starter on a good team. That is such good value in the late 1st round.

What a great finish. I had to wait until now to comment as I had to watch it on DVR from mid 3rd quarter on. I am very happy about this win.

Hayward is such a scrub, lol. Can't even dribble
Can't even tell if this is a genuine take or sarcasm anymore

Did you not see Hayward's turnover before he got benched in the 4th quarter for traveling? (or double dribbling, whatever it was)

Hayward comes up with nice plays and good games every so often but sometimes he looks clueless when he has the ball. Like it's his first day on the job.

He's no Kyrie that's for sure. But you could say the same for JT and JB as well, they've lost the ball numerous times driving to the hoop.

thrilled with the win but the first quarter was a mess.   have to admit I almost lost my voice yelling at Baynes when he got that pass in the lane and he passed it out for a missed three pointer when he had an uncontested dunk.  thought for sure that would come back to bite us in the butt
I think as people, we have to expect maybe a slow first quarter. They were on the road for like 8 days. They had to spend 5 days in LA. Someone caught the flu and spread it through the team to the point two players played through it and 2 missed the game tonight. Tatum was coming back from a sore shoulder. Most everyone on the court in that first quarter were off/short on their shots and 3/4 of a step slower.

They got it out of their system and went on to win the next three quarters by 19 points. Good job.

But Nick we're Celtics fans we expect perfection every time they go on the floor [dang it]!

Rofl, seems like my initial reaction of cringing at the post was suitable

So Kyrie played, erm, amazing today. His defence  :o

Like, he looks like he is seriously desperate to pull this team into the NBA finals.

I'm not sure effort is his problem at the moment. Defensive positioning is just a mess.

Needs to practice with Baynes (and the other two bigs) A LOT.

You watch Baynes, slide over, move in and out of the paint. Not sure how much is instincts and how much can be taught...

Listened to the last two quarters because couldn't watch anymore after first half. I would have turned on the TV again but didn't want to jinx it with the switch

We went big, played great defensively during that stretch,  and turned the momentum.

CBS should do this more often!

Did you notice Stevens seemed to be coaching with more of an edge last night?

He benched Hayward in the 1st half. Put in two bigs. Benched Tatum in the last 20 seconds of the game to send a message about his effort...

It was kind of awesome

And that's how it should be. Reward those playing well with minutes and if you're either not playing with effort or playing like dog crap, take a seat.

I do also think at at all times, Stevens should have either Baynes, Theis or Williams on the floor. Sometimes, he fields these maddening lineups on the court like Kyrie, Rozier and Smart all the same time. Why would you do that??

We need size, rebounding and defense to complement the scoring.

Anyway, nice observation.

Really happy with 2nd half effort.  First game in which Hayward put a poor first half with a strong 2nd half.  Also encouraging that Williams got some valuable minutes; he's a better match up against athletic guys like Giles than Baynes or Theis. Also interesting to see him play along with Al Horford.
