Jiri Welsch

Imagine what CBS could do with a player like that.  Versatile.

We got a 1st for Jiri. Ha ha.

  • Everybody knows what's best for you
This is a difficult question for me, as my criteria of an international player may be different. I view an international player as someone who was born outside the US and also played overseas professionally. I mentioned Kyrie earlier simply because he was born outside the US and seemed to fit you criteria, but in no way would I consider him an international player.

Based on my criteria, I would vote for Dino Radja.

However, if having no professional international experience is necessary, then I would vote for Al Horford. Although, that would definitely change to Kyrie after this season.

I like your criteria and think that an actual international player should get the vote (or at least spent their entire childhood in another country before coming over for college, or whatever). For that reason, I went with Dino Radja. It is surprising how incredibly sparse the Cs organization has been in this category.

I understand why Aaron Baynes isn't in the mix. Just wanted to mention his name to show appreciation for a great international addition. Important part of what the Celtics will do this season, on and off the court by all accounts.

Horford probably gets my vote.

I was wondering will Rick "the beautiful human" Fox get any votes.
He did, even though he was a Laker.

What an underrated great career.
North Carolina (Dean Smith), Boston (Handpicked by Red), LA (Jerry West got him as in FA)
3 titles...

The answer to this question should have easily been Tony Parker. The ghost of Joe Forte strikes again.

Rick Fox had the best career as a Celtic, though Horford is better.  I voted for Fox, but in another couple of seasons it will easily be Horford (he just needs more years).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I'd pick Josip Sesar :)
The Jordan from Herzegovina

Sonics draftee (47th, 2000)
We traded 2 2nd rounders for him in 2001.

As I said MJ from Herzegovina

I voted Dino. IMO, I don't think Horford qualifies as an international player. He's lived here since a little kid and went to HS and college here. Not sure he himself would admit to being an international player. That said, it's Dino and it is not even close :)
(not trying to be a smart a$$....I apologize if it came of that way)

You came across the opposite, because the Dominican Republic is not part of the US.

Horford was born in 1986 in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. His father, Tito Horford, played three years in the NBA and several more overseas. In the summer of 2000, Horford and his family moved to Lansing, Michigan, where he attended Grand Ledge High School in Grand Ledge, Michigan, and was a star on its basketball team.

So fourteen years or so. is that really a little kid.  The above sure makes it sound like he came here for high school.

He has also played for teams not named the US in international basketball.
