Just for fun - ASSUMING both Kyrie and Terry are gone next year and Marcus Smart starts at point - do you like the notion of using the non tax payers MLE (8.6 mil) on a veteran point guard to back up Marcus?

George Hill?

Darren Collison?

Or would you rather go the Shane Larkin/Brad Wannamaker route for 2nd unit (rather than 3rd unit)?

The only way that I'm satisfied with Marcus Smart as the starting PG is if Anthony Davis is on the floor with him. Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, one of either Brown or Tatum remains and then takes the next step in their development. Hopefully, our team goes back to a ball movement offense where many players get touches.

Hayward
Smart
Brown (or Tatum)
Davis
Horford

I'd be interested in that team. Either Collison or Hill would be fine.

In modern NBA, Smart is a fine starting Point Guard. The ball doesn't need to flow through a PG on every, or even the majority, of possessions anymore.

Patrick Beverly.

Celtics need this guy coming off the bench next season. I dont like Morris, but I am ok with bringing him back, and I also want to see Carter  with the LLE and a Swing picked up at the minimum or from the draft

Irving/Beverly/Wannamaker
Smart/Carter
Brown/Hayward
Horford/Morris/Yabusele
Davis/Baynes/Williams

The thought of Smart and Beverly on the court together, with potentially having Davis and Horford up front is by FAR the most lethal defensive lineup in the league. Even with Irving's mediocre defense at the point guard spot.

Toss in Brown on all defense lines and you have
Beverly
Smart
Brown
Horford
Davis.

That is ludicrous.

After watching Rozier sucking all year I think Wanamaker deserves a chance and a bigger role.

This is also my dream scenario. Keeping Smart and Brown while trading for Davis would not be easy, though (this is one case where the Memphis pick conveying would be a good thing)
I'm bitter.

Nah, I would use all 4 picks on 4 sleeper bigs and hope atleast one pans out.

Smart, Rozier and Wannamaker can run the point well enough. Danny always tries to be clever with his picks and never goes after need.

Pick for need this time...they have serviceable back-up bigs, and now they need their starter. And hopefully Rob understands what this team needs and stay in the gym this summer.  Hitting some weights won't hurt either...for Tatum too.

Then come out the gate next year hungry...and hopefully Danny doesn't throw players in front of them talkin bout "here's the people that's gonna lead you"

After commiting to the youngsters in the first place before getting greedy thinking you can win a title without working for it.

Now THAT team I would watch next year

Take the kid from UVA, Ty Jerome at 22.  He's a 6'5" PG, played on a national championship, and was a four star recruit out of HS.

Well some claim that a 6'4 point guard is not good enough and will never be a "win a finals MVP type of player", is 6'5 tall enough?

I mean [dang] can we get to that point 1st? We could use our MLE for something More important depending on what our roster looks like at that point. MLE is soooo far away I just couldn’t imagine thinking that far ahead yet.
