If Boston can get KD then you do it.

How many times are we going to ask this question?

 :blank:

Probably every time JB acts like he's disgruntled.  He tacitly endorsed the statement "Jaylen Brown is so disrespected by Celtics fans".
Is he wrong?

No, he's not.

Jaylen looked better than KD in the playoffs.

He’s wrong.  A minority of fans include him in trade ideas for future HOFers.  It’s arguable that that’s “disrespect”.  It certainly can’t be applied to Celtics fans overall.

Oh, then that's settled.

Hahaha.   I think JB was more impressive in the playoffs this year than Durant was.  JB showed up over and over again, and he didn’t wilt in the elimination game 6 in the finals.  If it gives him fire for next year to feel somewhat disrespected that is probably ok. As long as it isn’t anything more than being grumpy hearing dumb comments.

JB has every right to be upset with some of the fans calling to trade him, hes Human, and he feels like he played hard, which he did,but

When at least 3 of his 5 turn overs were from him driving into two or 3 guys that were already there trying to force some thing that wasn't there. Then there were the almost turn overs were he was dribbling it off his foot.

Fans have  aright to be p---ed, they know between him, tatum and Smart, if they cut 3 turn overs each that weren't forced  and have the bench score more that 5 points in the last two games, you win.

JB needs to take the criticism as a challenge, play smarter, not harder. Next season might be tougher depending how it shakes up. ANd theres going to be a target on their backs now. Everyone will come at them every game next season.

I don’t necessarily think being included in trade proposals for Durant is a huge show of disrespect on its own.  In fact, the belief that JB and a few low-value firsts can get us a top 5 player in the game is arguably the opposite.

The disrespect comes from a few places IMO.  First, this odd dichotomy where apparently you’re supposed to choose ONE Jay instead of just liking both.  Praise and support for one so often seems to come at the expense of the other somehow.  Media and fans have been playing this stupid either/or game since Tatum was drafted, rather than just appreciating that we have arguably the best forward tandem in the NBA.

Second, the fact that some fans are trying to ship JB out the door for any star-level player who might be available.  Butler, PG, Kawhi, AD, Beal, Harden, Durant.  It’s not that being floated for any one of those players is such an offense.  It’s just that there’s never been any point in this kid’s career when Celtics fans have collectively wanted to roll with their own guy over the Malcontent of the Month.

Now JB just got done with a Finals run where he looked like the best #2 in the playoffs and it’s the same song and dance.  Yeah, I bet it has gotten old.

Jaylen only has 2 years on his contract.  Is he going to be offered supermax?  If not, I think there is a good chance (say 35-40%) that he'll sign elsewhere.

Brown will be offered the max that the Celtics can offer.  The problem is, they can't extend him for the max right now so they have to let him free agency (much like Irving).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

He'll be an RFA, though, won't he?

Speaks to the missed opportunity earlier this month vs Golden State. The window is small - and now with the the Clippers picking up John Wall, the balance of power tilts yet again.

Give it a rest Jaylen.

This guy was great when he got to Boston as a rookie - he just wanted to play hard and win. But then he apparently got all caught up in being perceived as second fiddle to Tatum and all the media attention and fan gossip impacted him. Then he gets all caught up in the social justice issues. That's a good thing unless it leads you to believing in someone like Kyrie Irving, as well as taking all the conventional wisdom about racism and societal disparities at face value.

Most championship teams have a superstar talent and then a second & third best player who are crucial to success. If being one of the star supportive players is going to be a big problem for Brown, it will eventually destroy the team. Just hoping he can realize the great situation he is in and decides to simply do whatever the team needs from him to be successful.
