Shane Battier has no chance at the 6th Man of the Year award... he needs to score more.

Anthony Mason won it in '95 averaging 9.9 ppg.  Battier averaged 9.3 ppg last year.  Although with the addition of Artest, he'll get even less touches, so I agree with you.  I originally had Battier, but that was my reasoning for changing it.

It's not the norm. But you also have to factor in that he was very efficient, shooting over 55% from the field and grabbing 8+ rebounds in his minutes coming off the bench.

I might also question the type of competition he might've had that year.

With that said, Battier played a ton last year and didn't fill the stat sheet in any category. He should play much less this year in my opinion, so his stats should go down.

Wow you're that high on Love huh?

Based on another long thread you started this week, I'll nominate this for the most ironic post in the history of celticsblog.

Best record in the East? Celtics
Best record in the West? Lakers
ROY? Beasley
MIP? Stuckey
6th Man? Sadly, gotta go with Vujacic right now, unless Ginobili's still coming off the bench
DPOY? Garnett
MVP? I think they'll give it to Kobe again, though again he won't deserve it
Most surprising team?
Positive: Sacramento (rock bottom expectations, but I think they've got the scoring and youth to be very exciting and win 36-39 games - though they won't make the playoffs)
Negative: Hornets (I think despite adding Posey they'll drop down to 50-51 wins and a 4-6 seed, as teams will be gunning for them this year and the West is even stronger than last year)
All Star MVP? Chris Paul

NBA Finals? (Team X Vs. Team Y) Celtics vs Jazz
NBA FInals Winner? Celtics
NBA Finals MVP? Paul Pierce

Yea, hopefully we let Rajon take more shots (He did take 20 in the last game of the Finals, after all) and let him control the offense a little more. I think we're at our best when Rondo is playing well. 14-16 PPG 6-8 assists and 4-5 rebounds with the usual 2 steals isn't too far out of the picture, i don't think.

So yeah, either Rondo or Bynum for MIP.
