When he was hired there I said he wouldn’t get but 3 years to win a title .
I hope he isn’t working his way back to Boston as I predicted also many years ago after he failed with the Clippers and we got Tatum and Brown.

It is crazy to think that he keeps his job if they win Game 6 (clearly they weren’t winning game 7).  One bad quarter and he’s out.  One good quarter and he’s in.

I like Doc.  But he’s kind of had his run and is getting pretty sad at this point.

I also like him in the broadcast booth, so let’s get him back there.
Yup

I wouldn't have fired him based on the result.  Everyone talks about how bad he is with a 3-2 lead  but would it have been better if he lost in 6?  I honestly did not think they would get to 7 games much less take a game without Embiid.  Plus, if Philly had won, there's the thought that
Mazz  would have been fired.  So basically, no matter how well these two coached, there is no way for both of them to keep their jobs.

That's how perception of an overall body of work can be colored by a few minutes, depending on how those few minutes go.

That said, I think it's probably more than that...it's the results over the past few years. This was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Doc is not their problem

1) Embiid is the best player on the planet for 3 quarters but wears down in the fourth
2)   Harden too had bad fourth quarter
3)   The supporting aside from Maxey is garbage.
4)  The process did not work

The Sixers did the entire process just to land Embiid, who is an MVP-caliber talent BUT has some flaws/question marks as well. And he's turning 30.

They really blew it. It didn't work, and while they certainly hit on some picks, they definitely blew most of them. They probably are lucky BKN had dysfunction going on which allowed them to trade Simmons for Harden, because otherwise this would have been a disaster already. It probably is now especially if Harden walks.

I wonder how it'd go if Hinkie wasn't ousted by the league.

The bridges trade was an all time bad trade that people don’t talk about. https://sports.yahoo.com/nets-mikal-bridges-p---ed-off-140048792.html

Yep.  And if they didn't want to draft Bridges, they could have taken SGA.

I mean, let's give Philly competent management.

Draft Tatum.

Still do the Jimmy Butler trade.

Don't do the Tobias Harris trade.

Trade Ben Simmons for Tyrese Haliburton (which allegedly was on the table).

Quote
"I went to Topgolf the night before with some friends," Haliburton said. "I had a good night. I woke up that morning and got the call from my agent and I think I didn't answer at first. He texted me, he's like, 'Call me ASAP.' So I'm like, 'Is somebody getting traded?' And then he's like, 'You're getting traded.' And I was like, 'Stop playing.' He's like, 'No, you're going to get traded. I think you're going to get traded to Philly.' And I'm like, 'Really?'"

Don't trade Bridges to Phoenix after drafting him.

Draft Isaiah Jackson and Tyrese Maxey with the draft picks that were originally sent for Tobias Harris.

Embiid
Tatum / Jackson
Bridges
Butler / Maxey
Haliburton

Nobody is beating that team.  They'd have the best defense in the NBA by a mile, and probably the top offense, too.

Honestly just an absurd what-if scenario. Even if they had just aligned with Butler over Simmons, they would be so strong

Yeah I know some Philly fans on here were taking a victory lap when they got harden for simmons but they would have been so much better off with haliburton (and simmons definitely had at least as much value as sabonis at the time of the trade)
