He is the nephew of Mutumbo and given Clippers are looking to contend I doubt he’ll start but he will definitely get some major minutes, great pick by the Clippers.

Yeah, I was pretty high on him before the draft.  Surprised Danny didn't use one of his picks to take him.  Was available at 27.

Felt like he was a bit of a tweener.

Not really a PF. Not quite a C.

Edit: Sorry, that is not to say I wouldn't have been happy if Ainge had of drafted him. Just that I believe that was the issue that caused him to drop down the draft and something he will have to overcome ... but to get such a player in the 20s, is excellent value.

Not like he’ll get the playing time to prove it. Doc is allergic to rookies.

I'm surprised he wasn't included in PG trade package return to OKC.  Was that because he was technically a draft pick still, and they would not have been able to send next year's first round pick, etc.? Clippers seemed to have an open check book to get deal done.

I didnt watch him but thought his stats, height & length made him a great prospect for a pick in the 20s. I like Grant Williams now that we’ve got him but pre-draft this guy looked like a better prospect.

He had no issue playing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

That has always been a stupid criticism anyway.

Players who suck don't get playing time.  Players who don't suck get to play.  Rookies frequently suck, so many of them don't play.  With time, some of those rookies learn to not suck, and then they get to play - like Avery Bradley.  Many of them keep sucking though, and those players wash out.

It's not complicated, and I never felt that Doc had a poor grasp of this.  Which mistreated rookie has gone on to have a distinguished NBA career?  When he leaves young players on the bench, time almost always shows his decision to be correct.

Kind of slow if you ask me

Looks like it was a decent late 20s pick

geez, we went through this many times years ago. check out the rookie playing minutes for rondo, west, and allen.

the reason doc didnt play all the rookies a lot of minutes was because they did not deserve it.

can we please bury this myth once and for all? what is next, that free agents will never come to boston?  ::)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
