Contracts aside, Wiggins is easily the best out of Bennett, Fultz and Parker. If he made Smart’s money, he wouldn’t even be that bad of a contract. A scorer who isn’t much of a defender. Sounds like a decent role player
He's not even good at scoring! He's as efficient as Terry Rozier.

He doesn't pass, doesn't defend, doesn't score efficiently.

The only thing he does at an elite level is use up possessions.

Let Wiggins be someone else's problem.  Pass.

Thought he was touted to become the next LeBron back in 2014.
His second and third years were actually really quite good, especially on offence. Then poof... it was all gone

I don't know what happened to Wiggins after Jimmy Butler got there.

He no longer got to shoot whatever shot he wanted whenever he wanted with poor efficiency. A 27 and 29 Usage wing who doesn't create anything for others, plays no defense, and doesn't rebound cannot have a TS% in the low .500

Jimmy wasn't having that.

When he was in College he was considered a good defender. He had all the potential in the World when he was drafted to the NBA and then turned into Jeff Green.

Gonna have to pass. Money does strange things to people that never had any.

Oh I was all in hoping the C's got Wiggins once Embiid got hurt. His game versus WV when he went crazy and was just all over the court on both ends showed how talented he was/is.

Sadly he doesn't do it in the NBA but a few games a year, just like Jeff Green.

They should target Beal and see if the Wizards are willing to lean into the cap disaster of Wall's deal and just collect draft picks while getting a guy that will put up some shiny scoring numbers in a lot of Ls. Offer a 1st or two and maybe a flippable role player and see what happens.

If you are Washington you probably have to seriously consider it.  That team is in cap purgatory right now.  Might as well take a bad contract and get some good draft picks while you wait it out.  I mean what is the othe option for them?   Basically wait it out.  No one is taking Wall’s contract without a goldmine.

Betting on Minnesota's incompetence is not that risky of a proposition lol. Something like Wiggins + #11 + unprotected 2021 or 22 1st for Beal probably doesn't look too bad with what the Wizards are staring down. If it's not enough push for including Saric or Okogie.

Beal has two years left on his deal.  They should be able to get something comparable to that offer without taking on Wiggins’ contract for the next four years.

It depends on if one thinks Wiggins will have negative future on-court value as a player, or at least talk themselves into thinking he could realize his potential in a new situation. If you can, and the contract matters less to you because your cap's already screwed, then he's a roll of the dice rather than a massive cost to eat.

It's pretty crazy that the conventional wisdom is that he will be a negative contributor for good, that he's irredeemable as an effective player - he's earned it, but there's still a ton of talent under the bad habits and attitude. And everyone knows he can at least put up empty scoring numbers, which can matter for ticket sales.

Playing devil's advocate on myself, though, if Washington did want to rebuild through high draft picks, they'd probably not want max contract vets parked at PG and wing to suck up their minutes and shots. So perhaps not. Still think the Timberwolves ought to kick that tire pretty hard, it's about a best case for return.

Is there any way to get Towns and take on Wiggins contract?  What if we traded Hayward and someone else?  Just curious if it can be done and what pieces it would take.

Why would Minn move KAT?  They have him locked up through like '23-24.   He's not going anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah, especially just to dump Wiggins. Towns is a monster

Think the Wizards could grab Wiggins, 3-4 1sts and a player like Okogie at least with Beal. Regardless of whether the Wiggins contract is a roll of a dice or not to the Wolves, the reality is that it's a huge net negative in terms of value, and they can expect to send him out as salary filler without giving up assets to move the contract.
