The new-look Miami Heat:
Starters
Lebron James, Chris Bosh, Emeka Okafor, Brandon Knight, Mo Williams

Bench:
Guards: Lou Williams, Jordan Crawford,
SF: John Salmons, Omri Casspi
PF: Chris Copeland ,  Kyle O'Quinn
Center: BJ Mullens, Kurt Thomas

Beat that.

Why did you go with a small backcourt of Mo Williams + Brandon Knight?

You know, Miami would have been my hands down favorite if not for the terrible back-court situation.  Okafor, Bosh & LeBron is nasty.

Unfortunatley, Miami's two best guuards (Williams brothers) are injured and out indefinitely.  Knight is too inexperineced, and Crawford isn't worth discussing.

Anyways, this has been a blast!  Didn't think I'd have this much fun.  I look forward to joining the CB Draft if time permits.

TP's to all

G: Mario Chalmers

My oh my that would be a tough lineup to matchup against.

Two wing creators of Manu's + Harden's class. Floor spacing and speed and quickness with Mario Chalmers and Wilson Chandler. A mobile skilled offensive big man like Nene plugging the middle and running PnRs. Tough to stop.

That small forward slot is a real pickle. Not sure who should go there.

I don't like A.Gee as a starting small forward. He doesn't have enough size/athleticism. Gets overpowered on a regular basis.

DeRozan has some similar issues. He has very good size for a SG but undersized at SF and loses the value of his post game offensively. But while DeRozan shares that flaw with A.Gee, he also brings a lot more scoring to the table. So advantage DeRozan.

Then there is Dorell Wright. He has the size and height but not the bulk or physical toughness required to be a starting three. Another guy who gets overpowered physically. The best jump-shooter and floor spacer of the bunch as well as the best ball-handler and passer. D.Wright also had very good on-court (and off-court) chemistry with D-Wade in Miami. Best floor spacer for Wade + Rubio.

I reckon it's between DeRozan and D.Wright. I wouldn't go with A.Gee. All three guys have defensive issues but both D.Wright and D.DeRozan bring a lot more to the table offensively so they should get the nod ahead of A.Gee in my opinion.

I think I'd go with DeRozan as the starting SF. I like D.Wright as a secondary ball-handler alongside CJ Watson off the bench. I think he gives your non-starting lineups better balance offensively. And use A.Gee as my backup SG.

I think your bench is very strong.

PG: CJ Watson = good backup PG
SG: A.Gee = very good backup SG (or an excellent one in DeRozan)
SF: D.Wright = very good backup SF
PF: M.Bonner = decent backup PF
C:  C.Andersen = good to very good backup center

A nice five man unit.

A spread offense with a four out one in alignment. CJ Watson and Dorell Wright attacking off the dribble. Matt Bonner spacing the floor. Chris Andersen ducking in for easy hoops. Maybe some post-ups for A.Gee.

Defensively, a good anchor in Chris Andersen. A strong defensive backcourt in CJ Watson and Alonzo Gee. Dorell Wright gives good activity and athleticism. Bonner is a lost cause. Plenty of help around him though. Solid rebounding unit too.

Ricky Rubio could slot in there instead of CJ Watson to give Rubio some more opportunities to be the main attacker offensively. That lineup would work great offensively with a passer like Rubio running the show.

I really like that second unit. A lot of talent there. A lot of nice pieces.

I;m going to defend the work of Lucky and I. We improved Portland's starters, have a legit bench (unlike real Portland) and still have young developing talents in Lillard, Jonas and Earl Clark.

Plus we can amnesty Joe Johnson in a year or two if need be.

I think one of the underrated things about DeShawn Stevenson is how good a ball-handler and a passer he is. Not a guy you want creating things but a capable secondary ball-handler and decision maker.

D.Stevenson was really good for Gilbert Arenas in Washington. Very useful skills for your off-guard to have when alongside a scoring PG. Helps ball movement.

Unlike say M.Pietrus who can't be trusted to make decisions when he touches the ball. Weak handle and passing. Makes bad decisions. Error prone. Bad for ball-movement.

D.Stevenson is a real nice fit in that starting lineup. Understated glue guy. Great pick.

That's it?  the worst criticism is that the backcourt is short and that Knight isn't experienced?  He's got more than Rondo had in the 2008 season.

Granted, Lou and Mo are hurt at the moment but this is a team that will be a contender for years.  No one ready for retirement or breaking down except maybe Salmons.  a number of players developing into their prime or in it now.

I think it's a pretty solid contender.

Any team with Lebron is a contender the type of team you build around him determines whether you have the best team in the league or not and unfortunately i think you dont
