Memphis has fired coach David Fizdale, league sources tell ESPN.

Booooo!!

I bet they play better now. As long as they’re beating the Lakers, I’m good. That team has been stuck in mediocrity for about a decade now.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
You can fall quickly when you sit Marc Gasol.

Wow. I liked Joerger and Fizdale.

Time to rebuild?

I wouldn't say they've been mediocre they've actually been quite good just a notch below the elite teams in the West. They kind of remind me of Toronto...a team that's perpetually very good but not great.

Anyway, time to hit the reset button. Trade Conley and Gasol for picks and try to hit gold in the lottery. I kind of feel bad for Memphis. They don't really have any up and coming young guys worth talking about.

in the 14/15 season I thought they had a legit chance to win a ring if they'd stayed healthy.

Thought Joerger was a tremendous coach that they made a huge mistake letting go. I think Fizdale is a heck of a coach too. Not understanding the Memphis front office. They give Conley that ridiculous contract, get rid of two high quality coaches, and haven't learned they probably should have blown it up at least a year ago.

To make it as a coach in the NBA, u have to get along with the players...once u try and tell them what to do, u are a goner!! They will pout and complain..

Woah ... that was fast.

Don't get on the wrong side of the most famous, likable player in franchise history.

So glad. That Gasol benching was unbelievable. I was watching the 4Q and kept thinking he had to have a minor injury since he was sitting on the bench.

Not many trade possibilities. But New York might be interested in getting rid of a few bad contracts and have Conley secure them a place in the play-offs (for the next couple of years).

Cleveland could use Gasol for a (last) title run. They receive a couple usuful roleplayers to even the value with the Nets' pick

So trade idea:

To New York: Mike Conley
To Memphis: Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee, New York Knicks' pick '18

To Cleveland: Marc Gasol, Tyreke Evans, Brandon Wright
To Memphis: Tristan Thompson, Iman Shumpert, Channing Frye, Brooklyn Nets' pick '18
