Really great musician and songwriter, who wrote for many, many artists over the years. I met him briefly at a studio in New York some years ago ... I was subbing and he was there doing some soundtrack thing of Freudiana that was Off-Broadway at the time. Really heavy scottish accent that was hard to understand when he talked, but completely disappeared while singing, but a really nice guy ... just had a personality that made everyone feel like he'd known them forever, even when meeting for the first time. I don't know what his history was with the whole drug scene, (if anything at all), but there was something a bit "off" about him ... maybe just quirky. Sad to hear this yesterday ... RIP.
