Auerbach and, I think, Ainge focused on building teams. I know the modern NBA has a focus on offense, but, the core of a team's commitment is still defense. The game itself does have two elements.

OKC was always about highlight reels and stars and shooting percentages. What you end up with is "some star players" who need to be stars not team mates.

A team is built around both offense and defense as both are required.

The NFL has become "Texas Tech against Washington State" as boring old defense gets chucked for highlight reels.

We'll just have to see what happens. Is ESPN is the "commissioner" of the leagues it televises now?

OKC forgot to build a team, they made a lot of highlight reels though.

Harden leaving OKC always makes me think back to that Perkins trade.  Danny apparently almost had OKC sending us Harden instead of Green, if only they caved.
