they owe him a bigger thank you for keeping the Bulls out.  last time I checked in -- they were the 6th seed in the East.  how'd they get dropped out?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Bulls got dropped cuz Lamar odom lost his mind.

Warriors got dropped because I kinda forgot the grizzlies existed, and I felt if any team was running the risk of taking a bit of a swan dive in the second half, it was the warriors with curry's injury concerns.

You're overlooking the fact that in Chicago there's more to keep Khloe busy and therefore allow Lamar to retain what's left of his sanity.   ;)

The Warriors feel this process was a sham.
Both GS and Chicago got screwed.

Oh and Lebron is great but no way he and a team of reserves is top 8.

I can't tell if you're being serious or more tongue-in-cheek.  If you're being serious, though, keep in mind that this is nothing "official", and is basically no more valid than the various other GMs who have given their playoff teams.

IP is just putting a tremendous amount of work into giving his own personal opinion.  It's really cool to see, but in the end, it's the opinion of one man who values certain players different than you or I or whoever else would.  We all have our binkies, and players we don't like quite as much.

From the article linked on the front page:

Quote
Ayers found the two-player combination that had the greatest positive effect on wins was a versatile, three-point shooting wing with a high-scoring, high-rebounding center. Throw in a high-scoring, high-usage point guard and you have the most effective three-player combination. In all, four combinations of three different categories had statistically significant positive impacts on a team’s performance. Of those four combinations, three featured a versatile, three-point shooting wing - think Paul Pierce. Now take a moment and try to count how many players in the league fit that mold. For this group we’d be talking about players clustered around a per game stat line of roughly 16-4-4, shooting about 37.0% from the field. Only nine players in the league this season are approaching that stat line, and only four - James Harden, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Luol Deng - are wings. That particular player type fits very well with many other different combinations of players, but finding one that’s suitable talented to help lead a team is exceedingly rare. Scarcity is often the limiting factor in achieving ‘fit’.

Versatile, three-point shooting wing like Deng?  Check.

High-scoring, high-rebounding center?  Check.

High-scoring, high-usage point guard?  Check.

Looks like the Fake Cleveland Cavaliers are pretty much the ideal franchise.

Cavs are a very good team.

Warriors were one of my favorite teams too Rebus, but with Curry's injury issues, Camby's fragility, and David lee's...David Lee-ness, I just didn't see them pulling it together over a Lebron-led squad.

But I value LeBron pretty high. I think you could surround him with 9 random 20-somethings whose closest connection to the NBA is that they post too much on Celticsblog and he'd still make the playoffs.

but yet you didn't feel Derrick Rose deserved similar consideration?

No. Pretty close, but no. LeBron is a far superior player to Rose.
