I would've liked 62 games. That's 75%. I'd be fine with a player missing 20 games and winnings MVP.

Since Bill Russell in 1958, in a full season there are only 2 players to ever win the MVP playing less than 72 games, Walton in 1978 and Embiid last year. The NBA made the rule, to protect the integrity of the game and the awards since they don't trust the media to do the right thing.

Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I assumed it was as a measure taken against excessive load management. It gives players more incentive to play more games if they can't get their awards (and thus, their money) if they miss too many games.

But how many players made all nba? I only ask cause I don’t really know how to look this up

Forget the 65 game requirement to qualify for awards, just make the entire season 65 games instead of 82.
I know, never happen, but I think the play would improve and we would have less wear and tear injuries.
But ultimately, those in control are just about the dollar. Lebron would starve without his $1 billion bank account.

It should be 60 games.

Why so?  That's less than 75% of games played.

The lower the better. Maybe players should be concerned more with wins than awards and bonuses. I'd also like to see the top two teams in each conference get a buy for the first round of the playoffs.

It isn't very many on the 1st Team though you do find them more on the 2nd and 3rd teams.  And almost all of them have been recent, like last year's 1st team had Giannis 63, Luka 66, Embiid 66, SGA 68, and Tatum 74

I don't really care one way or another. But one alternative would have just been to change the award instructions and tell voters to take minutes played into account.

The part I find annoying is the fact that this is becoming a conversation in the national media because their darling Embiid is battling injuries. I know he's putting up great numbers but the Sixers are currently the 5 seed and even before this week, he had missed about 12 games and was likely gonna miss 5-10+ more before this season ended. If that's the case, Embiid was not likely to win MVP anyways. And as it stands, he's likely gonna miss half the season with the torn meniscus unless he recovers quick.

I mean Haliburton missed time due to injuries and may miss out on potential awards, but I barely hear a peep from the national media about that.

To be fair I started this post cause Halliburton complained about it to the media

Joker and his +18 differential per 100 while averaging over 26/12/9 is clearly the MVP (plus 47 of 49 games played). He should be unanimous.  Sure had Embiid continued his amazing play and actually stayed healthy he might have made it close, but it still should have been Jokic anyway. This is the easiest MVP decision since Curry in the 73 win season (at least at this point of season - obviously with clos to half season left things can change).
