Good. Philly going have all this cap space and come away with absolutely no
Max players
Would be so awesome!
If they do miss out, they'll do 1 year deals and try again next offseason.

Might keep striking out
Obviously which is why I said try again.  The Lakers have struck out for the last several years.  Fact is the Sixers are one of the best positioned teams to attract a top level free agent over the next couple off seasons.  If they miss out on Lebron and George, they shouldn't waste their future cap space on 2nd tier free agents.

at least not this summer.  2019 will likely be their last year of cap space for awhile, so t hey should use it that summer if they don't land any major free agents.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

The 76ers don't actually have that much to spend this offseason with Embiid's new contract kicking in. They only have roughly 30 million that's not including re-signing JJ Redick, Belinelli or incoming rookie Bolden and this years new rookies.

If the Spurs are willing to offer you whatever assurances and the mega extension you take it.

So if the Spurs are offering it he's a Spur for the next year at least, probably next couple of years.

That includes the 8.5M for Bayless who they'll trade to free up space if Lebron wants to come there.  If they sign a Max free agent, re-signing Redick will be tough because he'd have to take a significant discount but he apparently really enjoyed playing for the Sixers.  Belinelli was a cheap late season addition.  They won't worry about resigning him,

$30 million is a lot, that's basically the max for Paul George and gets them within striking distance of LBJs max as well. They have tradeable players to free up the space to get LBJ too, easy to move Bayless/McConnel/etc

Any scenario will have to involve renouncing or resigning JJ Redick as his cap hold is massive due to his massive $23 million dollar one year deal.
