- We have 2 young All-Star
- We have a player named Brown
- We have a player named Walker
- We have players named Williams
- We are hovering around .500

Hopefully we can at least make another ECF run again if not win it all this season.

I hope we beat the Nets in the playoffs though, instead of losing to them in the series despite coming back from 20+ points in the 4th quarter of game 3

Wonder if another GM replaces DA, sabotages C's playoff run so he can blow it up for draft picks and bad contracts like before.

Except, we do not have the Dick Harter defense (3rd opp. FG%, 2nd opp. Turnovers), nor the Jim O’Brien 3 point chucking offense (First 3P FGA, Worst/Last Team FG%, 5th Turnovers)

Pierce and Walker were Better than the Js....that is until Walker became a "Veteran All Star"..he let that ONE appearance go to his head and ruin a bright young career.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

This is a great post and beyond some of the humor of it, there’s some truth to it. I was in my teens and early 20s and that was a fun time to be a Celtics fan. This time is quite different for a few important reasons, mostly that you don’t have a Pitino figure coming in to completely wreck the franchise’s near-term future with bad trades and FA signings, and the coaching is way better. And of course the two players’ ceilings are higher than Peirce and Walker (Pierce himself has said as much about Tatum).

Some obvious similarities to the 2002 Cs. Here's one of 'em:

“Tatum & Brown can’t be your Superstars, They only do things to help their game. They don’t get anyone else easy shots. All the know how to do is score.”

That is not true about Pierce and Antoine. Sure, they had their difficulties coexisting with eachother, but they ended up being winning players who sacrificed their personal games to achieve team success. Pierce was the best player on a title team, and Antoine was a vocal leader and crucial part of the 06 Heat championship squad.

Exactly. Pierce and Walker as teammates are frankly evidence of the same basic point here.

Walker and Pierce weren't Superstars. And they didn't win together. They had to embrace -- whether they liked it or not -- that they weren't winning **** as the lead dog on an NBA team, and sacrifice in the pecking order and on the stat sheet to win.

Pierce, as good as he was, needed a Superstar player (albeit on the back 9 of his career) and one of the greatest shooters ever to get over the hump. Walker was a role player in 2006 on a team with two Superstars.

Will be interesting to see where Tatum and Brown net out. Statistically, both are having great seasons. And the team is sub .500. They're iso-scoring isn't leading to winning.

You need 2 Superstars or 3 Stars to win an NBA championship. The former is preferable if you want to win multiple.

Both Tatum and Jaylen are on the star track, but not Superstar -- frankly, that ship has probably sailed. Hard to see them becoming LeBron or Giannis or Larry or Magic or the like. Guys that good show up to the league with a next level differentiation almost immediately. They're both really good! But they're both essentially out of their rookie contracts, and neither is really making their teammates better with any regularity (Tatum is still dealing with COVID holdover effects, IMO).

And no, Kemba Walker ain't a Star.

LOL. That is just the advice of one player and yours, not a truth :)

Again Tatum and Brown are still young and already showed big sign of development. Tatum is on track for many records, many time with very good compagny. They aren't there yet but this season is also strange and Brown showed big improvment first 10 matches, now he comes back from injurie. They have to learn how to be leaders, but how much 22 YO players were leading their team to the title ? Jordan ? LeBron? Doncic ? No, no and no. And how may great scorers turned to be more collectiv more their career advanced ? Almost everyone I guess.

So they will be superstar and HOFers I bet all on that. After your exemples are all top 10 all time, this of course we can't say, but we can't say also for Doncic or Jokic...

Whatever this hard period isn't a definitiv negativ sign for our futur, let them react, adapt, think... Maybe loose again to step up. But our middle terme perspectiv are still very good with them (esp with Le Bron, Splash Brothers, Durant aging and retiring). And I am not sold we are done this year : look at Miami or Toronto, on the last ten match they are better than Milwaukee or Philly. Maybe our time to step up again will come also. When e have problems we have the noose inside and are unable to smell something else than the ****t we are inside, but we have still a wonderfull potential
