I understand the dislike for a key player on a rival, but I think Simmons is poorly characterized here at times, and he's my fantasy asset.

Tonight, he had 21 points (9/14 FG), 10 rebounds, 15 assists, 1 steal, and 3 TOs in a win over the Spurs.

Third youngest player to notch 20 triple doubles (Big O, Magic).

Crowder just made a ridiculous contested 3 with a foul versus the Nuggets, and IT was clapping for him and laughing on the sidelines.  Pretty cool.

His flaws get overplayed on here and his strengths get underplayed.  My biggest question is his mindset.  So far he's gotten by on talent.  Is he going to settle for being a very good player or is he going to put in the effort to be a great player?

Simmons is just like Westbrook.

They'll put up fantastic stats, but you'll never win a title with a player that can be so easily game planned against in a playoff series.

It took people a while to finally realize this about Westbrook, and people will start to eventually realize this about Simmons, too.

Except that Westbrook is OKC's #1 star and Simmons is really the Sixers 4th option in their half court offense.

The same thing was being said about Giannis... He won't do anything without decent shot. I am not saying Simmons is Giannis but he is no Mayo either.

Giannis is on a different level than Simmons. Plus Giannis does actually attempt outside shots.

Also it's not about disliking a key player on a rival, because people here respects Embiid's talent as with Porzingis when he was healthy.

The sophomore Giannis got a lot of "he is just dunking, very predictable 'comments.

But I agree that simmons' fear to take any shot is something to worry about.

Too many people talk about Giannis and Simmons shooting as though they're the same. They're not.

Neither is a good shooter but Giannis is willing to shoot. He has almost always taken at least one a game for his whole career and made over 30% last season before dropping off the face of the Earth this year. He's also a career 74% FT shooter.

Simmons, on the other hand doesn't shoot. He's attempted 11 threes in 129 regular season games and makes less than 58% of his FT's this year which is an improvement over the last. It's not just that both are bad outside shooters, it's that Simmons is ignoring an entire part of the game so far in his career. That's going to have to change.

And this is from someone very high on Ben Simmons.
1957, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, 1974, 1976, 1981, 1984, 1986, 2008

Paul George is starting to look like a much better player than Westbrook.

Well, LeBron was going to get injured long term eventually. Why not in a year where he wasn't going to win a title anyway? Rest LeBron. You really don't have to be you until this coming October when you will have more help.

God I hate LeBron. He even gets injured well by doing so at the most convenient time, in a year where his team was going to be unable to be a contender anyway.

Ouch.  Sportscenter posted this on instagram, and for some reason the celtics fan page did too.
