So Zizic played his first game for David Blatt and Darussafaka tonight. I didnt watch but the line seems alright.

http://www.euroleague.net/main/results/showgame?gamecode=118&seasoncode=E2016

TOMIC, ANTE   25:16   16pts on 8/8,  2 Boards, 5 assists

And the highest Performance Index Rating (whatever that measures?!) at 23

Looking forward to the Tomasz Kordylewski youtube highlights post!

Edit: See below: Tomic and Zizic are different players. -RH

p.s. Im assuming that the box score reference to Ante Tomic is supposed to be Zizic, since there is no Tomic on Darussafaka

Ante Tomic is the other team lol. That's the wrong line.

Ante Tomic plays for FC Barcelona Lassa, the team Darussafaka were playing.

UPDATE: Ante Zizic had 4 points on 2/4 shooting and 6 total rebounds in 16 minutes.

OP, you read the wrong line. Ante Tomic is a real player playing for FC Barcelona Lassa. Ante Zizic's opponent.

Scroll down the box score a bit more.

The next step is to beat out Erden for the starting job.
Not that easy conaidering he is a veteran player and a Turk, but thats the next thing.

Guys, that stat line is NOT for Ante Zizic.

It's for a player on the other team (FC Barcelona Lassa) by the name of Ante Tomic.

Darussafaka were playing FC Barcelona Lassa.

Zizic actually had 4 points on 2/4 shooting and 6 rebounds in 16 minutes of action.

Erden has been a Turkish League All-Star 3 of the last 4 seasons.  I'm not going to be disappointed in Zizic if that doesn't happen (and I frankly don't expect it has a chance to happen.)

Ante is a skilled post passer and is a good Euro level PNR finisher but soft and has poor balance. He was NBA material 5+ years ago.

Im just rooting hard for him. My boy.
I do believe that his skillset is sort of plug and play. Rebounding very often translates well. Especialy if a guy has good lenght, which he has with 7'3" wingspan. And his next best skill is finishing around the rim as a roller or on putbacks. Thats also easily translatable imo.

Oh, I agree.  I'm quite excited for him, and think he'll translate well to the NBA in a couple of years.  I just don't want to set expectations of him that he can't meet, and thus leaves me disappointed.

4 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks while shooting 50% in 16 mins is still really good for his first game
