besides the fact that he's better than JR in basically every area other than scoring. very good rebounding guard, good playmaker and a good second fiddle scorer.

I'm impressed with his play , based on being the perfect energy fit for the Pacers.

He isn't James Harden or a Durant player you built on .   I do think of JR Smith when I see Stephenson play,  although he is a better teammate and does most little stuff far better.

lance is one of these guys that somebody will pay stupid money for to draw him off the Pacers and the result will be Gerald Wallace .

He is overpaid a bad contract , letdown waiting to happen for most teams ......but put him on the Spurs, Mavs , Rockets or Heat as a bench specialist. And he help win championships .    he just is not a prime time starter.

His worth depends on WHERE and WHO his teammates are.
A unique player , like Rondo , requiring a special set of teammates.

I think it was Reggie Miller that touched on that during a game. How well Lance plays totally depends on the environment that he's in.

As with JR Smith, it depends on what the Cs would have to "give up" (be it salary or players in a trade) in order to get Stephenson.

I can tell you, though, that Lance Stephenson is not the Answer, and will not suddenly make the Cs a contender. The only questions are: (1) what do the Cs need to give up to get him and (2) how much will his value improve while on the Cs so that he can be flipped as part of a package for a star player?

Since Indiana is not going to trade him during the season, and he becomes a FA this summer, the answer to (1) is somewhere between A LOT and TOO MUCH. And so it won't happen. That makes (2) a moot point.

So, let's move on from Stephenson....
Celtics fan for life.

Exactly what I'm saying, so give him 14 million so we have a starting 5 of

Rondo Stephenson Jeff Green Gerald Wallace and Sully

It's weird...

I cant even think clearly about adding players like Stephensen to this Celtics roster.

I need to know who the next "core" player is that the Celtics are going to dd, be that through the draft, or trade.

Just like I couldnt have had a discussion about signing James Posey or Eddie House before trading for KG and Ray.

It is tough to tell which role players will fit bet on this team without the go to scorers or defensive anchors in tow.

So hopefully, those pieces will come soon so I can start thinking about adding guys like Lance.

Unless people here are making the argument that Lance is a core player...then yall are nuts!

Yeah ofcourse I'm saying Wallace and Stephenson is what we'd be stuck with cause we have almost 30 million in the two of them ****. Celtics bloggers don't think sometimes. Stephenson would be the worst signing of all time no joke, guy is nowhere close to the money he's going to command much rather Avery or just draft a gaurd.

Yeah sure. 23 year old soon to be all star who is a match up nightmare for nearly every team in the NBA.

Tyreke Evans gets 4 yrs for 44 million. Stephenson will get near max money if Pacers can swing it, given their tax situation. If he is not with the Pacers in 2014-15, it will because he is then moved in a James Harden type deal.

No way Celtics are getting Stephenson unless they give up Rondo in a S&T and/or many first round picks in the off season and then take on Stephenson's new near max contract.

Only way you get him for less is if he has some sort of character relapse issue. Do you think Larry is stupid?

**** at soon to be all star? Larry will keep him only because he wants to keep his team intact, if he asks for 12-14 million I doubt Larry keeps him and if he does it's for the reason I said above.

He will not be an all star btw. DWade, Joe Johnson, Afflalo would make it before him, and in future years, Bradley beal, OLadipo and a couple more would make it before him. He shouldn't even be a starter, he's a good sixth man on a good team, he's only a starter on a non contending team. Not worth 12 million.

The tyreke Evans point is moot. No way should tyreke be getting 10million, that is a terrible contract and the pelicans will have to deal with that, hence why they are not a good team this year, spending the money they did in the offseason they should be contending, they most likely won't make the playoffs and if they do they will be a 8 and 7 seed.

If you want another Gerald Wallace nightmare contract on our team and want us to be mediocre for the next 5-6 years and lose rondo then continue hoping we get Stephenson.

The player that leads the league in triple doubles? only a good sixth man on a good team? Have you watched any of the Pacers games this season? Shaq called him a borderline Allstar, even Barkley went out of his way and called him a surefire Allstar. ???

I cannot consider him an Allstar right now but he's just 23 and IMO will still improve a lot.

He's a starter on the team with the best record.  Are you just talking sensationalist nonsense for the sake of doing so?

Really not looking to get trolled today on Lance Stephenson. But you have no worries. The Celtics are not getting Lance Stephenson unless they give up Rajon Rondo or a bunch of draft picks.

Barkley says he is a lock for the all star team. Shaq says he is borderline all star right now with superstar talent. Bird and Vogel and his teammates love him. What they say.

Oh btw, Tyreke Evans was having a solid year 12/4/4 before he was injured.
