Oh great. Right knee sprain for Kyrie, and he won't return.

Strain, not sprain.

Edit: I guess i heard wrong. Sorry.

Kyrie has been out a lot recently. Time to put on the injury-prone label for him.

Here's the play. Not sure exactly how he sprained it on that play, though he clearly looked a little gimpy there. Seems like it's a precautionary thing given how far we are up, given that he played a few additional minutes before coming out.

Luckily, though, it's his right knee. His left knee is the knee that he had all the issues with in his career.

He was considered injury-prone way before even coming to the Celtics.

But I think his recent "hip injuries" are more about rest against bad teams than actual injuries keeping him from playing. That's the impression that both Danny and Brad gave, anyways.

Sprains refer to ligaments (i.e. MCL or ACL sprain), strains refer to tendons and muscles (i.e. quad strain). One is not necessarily better than the other.

Now it's Rozier's time to shine.

It's put up or shut up.

I thought that strain was a stretching while sprain was more of a fraying. Shrug.

Will be interesting to see how long Kyrie is out with the ASB upcoming. To be on the safe side they might just shut him down the next two games until the ASB to give him the extra recovery time.

Sprains and strains have grades (Grade 1 strain, Grade 1 sprain) the level damage is classified by grade.
