Sounds like he is guessing. An informed guess but still a guess.

I have this feeling...  Bosh retires, Al Horford signs with the Heat
perhaps, but what would be the attraction? he can get boatloads of money from better teams. the only real star on the heat is aging ungracefully. as a team they seem poised to regress.

why not sign elsewhere would be the question i would put to him.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

He's really plugged in. He's the one that first reported both blood clots.

Quote
The other area where people have been confused is in regards to Bosh’s contract with Miami. Some people have wondered if the HEAT have an ulterior motive here and are trying to get out of paying Bosh this season’s $22,192,730 salary or the three guaranteed years remaining on his deal. However, it’s important to note that Miami will still have to pay Bosh for this season and keep his earnings on the books.

The absolute earliest that Miami could receive any cap relief is February 9, 2017 since that is the last time that Bosh played in an NBA game. If a player is ruled medically unable to continue their career, their team can receive cap relief one year after he played his last game. Anyone saying that this is Miami trying to get out of paying Bosh this season or trying to free up cap space for free agency this summer is misinformed.

Rough news for him but if some of these reports are right and he's shopping around for a medical opinion that would allow him to play again in contrast of other doctors' advice, then its probably a good thing.  Don't want to see another Reggie Lewis situation.

Point of information that people may or may not know: Erik Spoelstra was on the court as a player a few feet from Hank Gathers when he died.

I really hope this isn't true but at the same time, I don't want Chris Bosh taking the chance of having the same fate as Reggie Lewis.

Wade actually seems to be aging OK now that he has some help and they have him on game and minutes restrictions during the regular season.

I'm just imagining that Heat starting lineup with Horford in place of Whiteside.  The spacing and overall skill would be amazing.

Too many are overlooking this. It's speculative, an opinion.

Unfortunate for Bosh, but I can't wait until the Heat are irrelevant again.

I think you'll be waiting awhile.  It's one of the best organizations out there.  They seem to be really good at getting guys to come there.  They aren't always great, but they never seem to spend more than a year or two in the lottery.

Doesn't work that way. They won't get his cap number off the books this summer.
If he chooses to retire or is forced to retire due to health reasons I think his cap number would come off the books.

Reggie Lewis died and his cap numbers didn't come off our books, but they are not the Celtics so yeah, most likely.

That's not how he operates though. If he's saying it it's likely because that's the information he's receiving. He's not one that offers reckless reporting simply to be first. This has been his track record throughout his tenure.

Bosh will not retire. His contract should be insured so there is no reason to retire if you can't play for health reasons.

Sounds like reporter speculation though.
