None of the above would put us over the top.

I mean in a hypo world here if we got Tatum, walker, brown and griffin we are not potentially a championship team? Griffin was really really good last year, I think second team all nba

We'd be good, but we'd still be woefully lacking in interior defense, and we'd still have the same issues with shot distribution.  (3rd Team All-NBA, btw.)

Our primary need as a big man is defense. That's what we will miss most from Horford, which is why I voted for Capella.

I think if you have enough playmakers and inside out scoring the interior defense matters a lot less than it used to. In this fantasy scenario we would have three pretty reasonable all star candidates in Blake, walker and hopefully Tatum. We have smart for perimeter defense and Blake is a really good passing big men. We would do ok on the Boards between kanter and Blake. I think that team could definitely win the championship

Gasol could be available if Raptors plummet and decides to tank. But I doubt that happens because even without Kawhi, they were still quite formidable team, unless we see Lowry, Gasol and Ibaka regress to the mean.

Also should have been an option from the start.
I think if we somehow add the combo of gasol and Ibaka while keeping the core 6 . That will take us over the top in the east and maybe more ... highly unlikely but let’s say that Toronto buys them out then our rotation becomes :

Pg - Kemba / smart
SG - brown / smart
SF - Tatum / Hayward
PF - ibaka / Hayward
C- gasol / Kanter  ...

Edwards and semi for occasional matchups....
I think this is as good as we can hope we get and just the right rotation depth for the playoffs

I voted Drummond. No idea how we’ll land him (salary-wise) and I don’t think he’s available... but if we can roll out a lineup of:

Kemba
Smart
Tatum
Hayward
Drummond

I like our chances. Salaries don’t work but essentially I’d trade Brown for Drummond and Detroit’s unprotected (or top3 protected) 1st.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
James Wiseman in the draft. It might be difficult to trade up and grab him, but not impossible.

With how this team is set up, I'd rather draft a rookie with all star upside than trading for a veteran. If we traded for a veteran it would cost Brown, Smart, or Hayward to match salaries.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19
