I actually like our roster and I think have a very strong nine man rotation:
Rondo/Dooling
Allen/Quis
Pierce/Quis
KG/Bass
ONeal/Wilcox
I can see this rotation being very effective. Quis can play the 2 or 3 and easily share the floor with either Allen or Pierce. I love Bass and Wilcox off the bench. I also am looking forward to seeing Dooling actually run and command the offense for a change. Something Delonte, Robinson and even going back to Marbury couldn't do here in Green. Im optimistic about these 9 guys.
We've got a decent bench. I'd be happier with a scorer -- which would have been Green in an ideal situation. Who knows, if Moore continues to look sharp, he might get some minutes behind Ray and allow Quisy to focus on playing SF.
--------------
We need to bring in one more player to replace Jeff Green. It's not Nate, who has character issues that the Celtics are avoiding like the plague(eventhough, I like to have him still than Avery 'Brick' Bradley). We're certainly not touching Iverson with a ten foot pole(though it wouldn't hurt to try). Right now we have no one who can cover Lebron in transition, and the Heat love nothing more than to outlet the ball to the other side of the court with Lebron out-running everyone for the easy 2.
Ideally we land:
1 Kirelenko (shut down defender, experienced, starter worthy)
2 Al Thornton (young, athletic, active on defence)
3 Joey Graham (ughhhh.... young, athletic, drops alot on the lakers???)
4 Julian Wright (height, athletic, active on defence)
5 Mikeal Pietrus (knock down shooter, clutch, most reliable)
6 James Posey (Celtic hearted player, shooter, old veteran, laid back)
7 Jamario Moon (crowd player, highlight reel, run in transition with Rondo, young, laid back)
I would take AK47 or Mike Pete, Especially Micheal Pietrus from his playoff performances and clutch factor evidence.
Lets Now Look @ some Bigs
1 Joel Pryzbilla (Laid Back, Great Board-Grabber, Height Adjuster)
2 Micheal Sweetney (Veteran,Experience, Foul Eater, Big Banger in the post)
3 Erik Dampier (Veteran, Experienced)
4 Ray Hollins (Athletic, young, laid back)
5 Kyrylo Fesenko (Nice Extra Foul Eater)
6 DJ Mbenga (certainly no help from him)
7 Samuel Dalembert (Starter worthy, Laid back, Nice team player, veteran, experienced, best pick if worth less money)
I would like to get Pryz out of 'retirement' if possible to shore up the frontcourt. But my pick is definitely Dalembert if we can afford him. Your opinions?

30 Allen, Garnett
22 O'Neal
24 Daniels
16 Wilcox
23 Bass

during the regular season I fully expect Moore, Johnson, Pavlovic, etc. to get some work in and the starters to get some nights off, but I think this will be the general lineup

SG - Allen 30, Bradley 10, Daniels 8
SF - Pierce 32, Daniels 16
PF - Garnett 20, Bass 15, Wilcox 8

Nice post reply, but some of the minutes dont add up properly, I think... and I wouldn't want Bradley to be in the line up (my opinion). I actually rather have Sasha and Moore to fill up that 5 of those 10 minutes each.

I think KG and JO could average a little less than 30 and Bass possibly average 20 to 25 MPG. With Ray and Paul ideally I would like to keep them around 30 with so many back to backs.

"Where were we?" I guess I'm not in the 'we' part because I knew about this on Saturday/Sunday. Besides, I didn't list Baron, why did you bring him up?

I'll add my opinion of minutes at the top.

To me bradley has to earn any minutes...as of now I would not put him on the floor. Defensively he and rondo would be great to watch but so far I can't see any time.
Very happy to have Bass & Quis on the bench. I expect good things from them. Brandon running with rondo is going to be great to watch, easy buckets!
As always since the big 3 came together, its health. Our team stayed healthy last year it should have been a championship.

There seem to be quite a few players still out there that originally were looking for decent money but as the season creeps closer you have to think they will lower their demands. I wish that would lead to us signing one of the following
Stevenson
Pryzbilla
Humphries
Redd
Arenas
Evans
Thornton
If there is any news on any of these guys I'd like to hear it.
-
I'd say that the odds of picking up someone who can guard LeBron in transition are extremely small.

Stevenson. That's why I want Stevenson.

Nice post Ottawa. I'm with you on the 9 man rotation & the minutes played.
Pryz & Dalembert would be my choices as well, just not sure Dalembert is attainable (contract wise). Thornton is on my list as well and a past Ainge favorite.
I also give Moore the shot at backup 2 guard.
-
Looks like Pietrus could be had pretty cheap if we were willing to take a risk on his knee.

TY, but Thornton just signed with the Kings for alot on his contract.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Yi :-p
hes a 7 footer who can shoot 3 and run...for the 14th 15th spot playing around 15 minutes why not

Hadn't heard about that. Could you be thinking of his cousin by chance, who plays for Sacramento? Marcus Thornton.

Plus Ainge/Doc (I forgot which) was interested into grabbing them in the midseason of last year!

What? There's two Thortons!?!

Sign Keith Bogans if we can't get Stevenson.
Sign someone before they're all gone.
-
Ha! I was right about signing Mike Pete and Ryan Hollins (I misspelled his name...) 8)
