My hope is the Suns trade the pick they got from Milwaukee for Bledsoe to the Lakers for Ball, as the Lakers clear max cap room for both LeBron and PG13.  I’ve nervously watched the Suns as a potential Smart destination.  I also want Lonzo and Lavar out of a major media market.  (And I think on-court he’s actually be a very good fit for Phoenix.)
I can't imagine coming off of a 10/7/7 rookie season, Ball's value is so low that a mid 1st round pick is all he is worth.  I get the larger idea of clearing cap room, but still that seems way to low.

The Bucks pick has some interesting protections on it (only conveys 4-16 next year) and accordingly will either likely be a lottery pick or not convey at all until the following year with just.  And Ball has a lot of baggage — I can’t see a lot teams being willing to sign up for it.  The Spurs aren’t going to want him as part of a Kawhi deal, for example, and I also can see trading Ball as a pre-requisite for LeBron to sign in LA.

I think Ball is a very talented player, and while maybe he oughtn't have been picked #2 a year ago, he definitely was worthy of no worse than the top 5-7.  But there are limited suitors in general given the Lakers’ requirement to take back no salary, and his father is a real risk to blow up your locker room.  Any team taking on Ball has to be very wary, and that’s not going to provide an unprotected 1st from a lottery team.

It’d be silly for the Suns not to go after him.

Smart
Booker
Jackson/Bridges
Warren/Bender
Ayton/Chriss

Is a nice young, exciting core.

Indiana is the team I'm most worried about going after Smart.  I think they could table a pretty big offer, and he makes sense on their team.

I'd actually be worried about Marcus being terrible in PHX.  I don't know that he'll thrive on a bad team.  He'll either immediately start turning the culture around, or I could see him trying way too hard, getting frustrated with his crappy teammates, and him missing a lot of games from injury due to trying to overcompensate for the plays his teammates can't make.

If PHX can add Smart and acquire Love via this rumored CLE/PHX deal, that's a pretty fun league pass team to watch next year.

I can see Indiana wanting Smart.  Certainly, the fanbase would love him and what he brings, the same way we appreciate it.

There are better guards and better young RFA for teams to go after. There is also less money.

I've been saying this for about 8 months now -- the most likely scenario is that Smart signs the QO.

They could easily win 5 more games than last year, maybe.  ;)

I like this idea on many levels.
Lonzo to Phoenix is mutually beneficial.
Lonzo (and Lavar) out of LA is good for the NBA.
LeBron out of the East is good for the Cs.
LeBron + PG13 in LA will help keep the Warriors in check.

we care about the NBA, why? Lonzo should be a Laker for his entire NBA career. Let him ruin the Lakers.

Exactly. Add another top 3 pick in next years draft and in 2-3 more years that’s a hella fun team to watch. Move Warren Bender and a first for Love and they make some noise in a couple years.

Link?  I expected them to land FVV ahead of Smart. Toronto can't afford to match any more salary.  and FVV is a better fit offensively, and gets an opportunity to start with Knight's health issues.  I believe this takes them out of the running for a near max offer for someone like Aaron Gordon or Jabari Parker.

Feeling confident that Smart returns on a team friendly deal.  Indy is the only concern.
